Wrapping up an impressive month of video game reveals was the Annapurna Interactive Showcase held on June 29, 2023. Annapurna Interactive has a reputation for publishing games from indie developers, especially those that are “personal, emotional, and original”. For about 30 minutes, Annapurna Interactive Showcase kept me on the edge—and here is why.
The 2023 Annapurna Interactive Showcase began by treating viewers to quick flashes from games lined up for the show. Afterward, Kelsey Hansen, producer at Annapurna Interactive appeared on screen to welcome everyone that tuned in for the show.
“We are so excited to be here and even more thrilled to show you what we have in store for this year,” Hansen said. “Over the next 30 minutes, we’ll share our latest game reveals, spotlights, two new developer partnerships, and give an exciting first look at the debut game from our internal development team.”

All the game reveals and updates at the 2023 Annapurna Interactive Showcase
Although the sudden death of E3 was unfortunate, it has allowed gamers to turn their attention to other events. Thankfully, from PlayStation Showcase to Summer Game Fest, to Xbox Games Showcase, and Nintendo Direct June Showcase, none of them fell short of expectations—and neither did Annapurna Interactive Showcase.
Below are the different games revealed at the 2023 Annapurna Interactive Showcase in the order in which they appeared. Which of the games are you most excited about? Share your thoughts in the comment section at the end of the article.
#1. Lorelei And The Laser Eyes
The first game that was revealed at the 2023 Annapurna Interactive Showcase was Lorelei and the Laser Eyes from Simogo. The psychological horror simply told stories about events that happened in the past and others currently happening that were linked to the United States. One thing I gleaned from the reveal is that the game will be a lot about solving puzzles. The game will be available on Nintendo Switch and Steam.
#2. Cocoon
Cocoon was the winner of the Summer Game Fest 2023 and is currently the most anticipated indie game. Developed by Inside & Limbo, Cocoon will allow gamers to navigate a colorful world through the eyes of a bug. The game features interesting puzzles and an oversized boss. It definitely looked like a game I will keep under my radar.
#3. Lushfoil Photography Sim
If you love photography, you have every reason to love Lushfoil Photography Sim. From rain forests to icy peaks, players will navigate through nature and freeze the moments they love the most using a camera or drone. The game was announced for PC and console but no definite release date was given.
#4. to a T
to a T is a game from Keit Takahashi. This is one of the games I found both interesting and funny at the 2023 Annapurna Interactive Showcase. It is about a boy that walks around with his arms spread apart. Together with his dog, they have great adventures. to a T will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, and Steam.
#5. Flock
As the name suggests, Flock is a game where you explore an expansive world on the back of a bird. As you travel, you will find animals you can charm and add to your flock. Interestingly, you can charm sheep too. When you do, allow them to graze and they will grow wools which can be used to make clothes. It will be available on PS4|PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, and Steam.
#6. Ghost Bike
Developed by Messhof, Ghost Bike allows players to experience the life of a streetwise kid from Freehub City. Your mission would be to revive the last of the Ghost Bikes, the magical couriers who rode between the world of the living and dead. Ride the Ghost Bike to the afterlife and save the lost souls of Wheel World. The game is scheduled for a 2024 release and will be available on all platforms.
#7. Mundaun
This first-person horror game was another game that kept me on the edge of my seat at the 2023 Annapurna Interactive Showcase. The hand-penciled horror game now has an updated version for Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It can also be purchased from Epic Store.

#8. Bounty Star: The Morose Tale of Graveyard Clem
Developed by Dinagad, Bounty Star is a game about an ex-veteran that now makes a living as a bounty hunter. Half of the game is a third-person action shooter that will see Clem bring back her targets, dead or alive in her customizable infantry machine. The other half will see Clem upgrade her shop and develop her bounty-hunting potential. The game is expected in early 2024 on all platforms.
#9. Stray
Arguably the biggest announcement at the 2023 Annapurna Interactive Showcase was about Stray, the 2022 Game of the Year contender. After making exploits on PlayStation, the game is finally coming to Xbox. The announcement will definitely excite Xbox fans who have watched from the sidelines. Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players can add Stray to their catalog from August 10.
#10. Thirsty Suitors
In Thirsty Suitors, you will battle your exes, disappoint your parents, and ultimately find yourself. The interactive game with a female protagonist tells the story of how parental and societal expectations shape the lives of teenagers. It was by far the most emotional reveal for me at the 2023 Annapurna Interactive Showcase. It is also one of the few with a definite release date (November 2, 2023). It will be available on all platforms including Nintendo Switch.
#11. Storyteller
Another interesting announcement at the 2023 Annapurna Interactive Showcase was the update to Storyteller. The update brings new characters, new scenarios, and new challenges. The new update will be released on September 26, 2023.
2023 Annapurna Interactive Showcase had a surprise game from the publisher
There is always that moment in every game showcase that will leave your mouth gaping in awe. For the 2023 Annapurna Interactive Showcase, it was the announcement that the publisher would release a game developed in-house. Prior to the reveal, Chelsea Hash, game director at Annapurna Interactive appeared on screen donning a turtle neck suit.
“Over the past year, we have put together a wonderful group of people and have been collaborating on an exciting new project,” Hash said. “I never imagined I’d have a chance to make a game set in this iconic universe—and there is so much more we want to tell you but for now we’re thrilled to share this announcement trailer.”

Apparently, the game that Annapurna Interactive has been working internally on is Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth. Although not much was revealed in the announcement trailer, the narrator said something about people losing a lot of things in the blackout. The game will come to PC and console but I can’t tell which of the consoles at the moment.
