5 video games to watch in March 2023
Although the release dates for video games are often unstable, we believe the games on our list will most certainly be released this month.
FATAL FRAME: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse (9 March 2023)
This is the fourth game in the FATAL FRAME series. It was first released in Japan in 2008. It is a game about the mysterious disappearance of a group of children during a festivity on Rogetsu Isle.
The kids were eventually found but their memories had become messed up. Three of them who survived, returned to the island after 10 years to figure out what happened to them and their dead friends.
This island isn’t ordinary, it is inhabited by spirits and ghosts which would easily cause harm to anybody who comes to the island. The three girls must explore the island while successfully fending off the attacking ghosts and spirits.
Compared to the 2008 version, this new release features improved graphics, a new snap mode, and new costumes with appealing character models. Its numerous upgrades are aimed at making the game more realistic and scarier to play.
KOEI TECMO America, which is the original developer of this game, has also promised to release a disc and a special Digital Deluxe Edition in Japan for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. This special edition will include a digital art book and the Rogetsu Isle Dinner Party Costume Set.
Fans who pre-order the game are also promised a variety of costumes, such as the Ruka Misaki, the Choshiro Limited Edition Costume, and the Ruka Limited Edition Costume, to name a few.
Purchasing the game by 22 March 2023 will give you access to early purchase bonuses. You can find out more details about this game by visiting its official website.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure (14 March 2023)
The second game on our list was developed by Falcom and published by NIS America. It will be released on 14 March 2023, in North America, on 17 March in Europe, and on 24 March in New Zealand and Australia for PlayStation 4, PC via Steam/Epic Games Store/GOG, and Nintendo Switch.
In a review, Matt S. the editor-in-chief of DDNet emphasized that The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is what a masterpiece looks like. Trails to Azure witnesses the continuation of the story of the aspiring hero Lloyd Bannings.
It follows events from the previous episode, Trials from Zero. In this part, which is set some months before the events of Trails from Zero, the Special Support Section is upgraded with new duties and new members.
A temporary peace had settled over Crossbell just a few months after the numerous events of Trails from Zero and the Section found fame and new status from their heroic actions.
The rise of several organizations with devious motives soon broke the fleeting peace experienced in Crossbell. The increasing pressure from the Republic of Calvard and the Erebonian Empire further exacerbated the tensions.
You will get to experience a lot of action using the new combat features such as a customizable car, Back Attack, and Burst. In this series, a whole new story experience is guaranteed, and saved data can be used to secure bonuses in the forthcoming Trails into Reverie.
WWE 2K23 (17 March 2023)
Developed by Visual Concepts and published by none other than 2K Sports, WWE 2K23 is a professional wrestling sport; the 23rd installment in the WWE game series. It is also the successor to WWE 2K22 and the 10th game under the WWE 2K brand.
It is meant for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox Series. The game garnered a couple of positive reviews before its release date. For example, IGN’s Dale Driver anticipates the upcoming game to outperform previous installments in the series.
WWE 2K23 has exciting features such as double title entrances and also has WarGames as a playable match type. According to the developers, the WarGames match type has been in development as early as the WWE 2K22 series.
You will receive Bad Bunny as a playable character if you quickly make a pre-order of any edition of WWE 2K23. As you make progress in the game, you will be able to unlock new arenas, attire, and characters.
Cody Rhodes is also going to make an impressive return as a playable character after being excluded from the series for 6 years. The included bonuses in this new series are enormous, especially for those with a verified 2K account.
According to information gotten from an interview with one of the game developers at 2K Sports, WWE 2K23’s PC version will be as good as the Xbox Series X and PS5 versions. The release date and cover design of WWE 2K23 got leaked on 20 January 2023, from a data miner.
Tchia (21 March 2023)
You might be wondering what type of game Tchia is. Well, Tchia is not your regular open-world action-adventure game. It is a thrilling video game that is guaranteed to capture your attention at first sight.
Tchia was developed by Awaceb and published by Kepler Interactive. Awaceb is an independent game studio located in Montreal. The game is tipped to be one of the best indie games of 2023.
A team of 12 people created this game which is heavily inspired by New Caledonia where both founders of Awaceb grew up. In August 2019, the team responsible for the development of this game received funding from Kowloon Nights.
It was originally set for release in 2022 but couldn’t because of a couple of delays. It is scheduled to be released on 21 March 2023, for PlayStation 4 and 5 and Microsoft Windows.
In Tchia, players are expected to guide the protagonist, whose goal is to explore a tropical archipelago to rescue her father, who was kidnapped by some bad people.
With the gift of “soul jumping,” Tchia can take control of inanimate objects as well as animals and use them to explore new places, defend herself against enemies, and also solve puzzles.
Phil Crifo, one of the developers, said players can soul jump to many objects and more than 30 animals in the game. In her human form, Tchia can operate a raft and a glider, which enables her to get to a couple of difficult areas in the game.
She is also highly skilled and flexible, which enables her to ascend different surfaces, catapult herself across canopies, and quickly slide down a mountain.
There are many points of interest to discover in Tchia, such as chests with cosmetic items, minigames, and thrilling side quests. “Soul-Melodies” can also be used to change in-game weather, alter time, and summon animals for soul jumping.
Gameplay sequences can be skipped with no trouble and Tchia’s appearance can be extensively customized. Gliders and rafts can also be modified to suit players. Get more information about this game on Awaceb’s official website.
Resident Evil 4 Remake (24 March 2023)
At the June State of Play, Capcom gave gaming fans a glimpse of the long-awaited Resident Evil 4 remake. The trailer had several familiar characters, including the castle enemies, Ashley Graham, and Leon’s iconic outfits.
This popular survival horror game is a remake of the 2005 Resident Evil 4 game released for GameCube. The development of the Resident Evil 4 Remake is led by the studio M-Two and reportedly began around 2018.
