Geoff Keighley recently confirmed that Summer Game Fest has over 55 partners, meaning there will be lots of reveal on June 7. On the list of the event’s partners is 2K which is gearing up to announce the next installment in its biggest and most beloved franchise.
Although there was no hint as to what the game may be, all fingers are pointing at Mafia or BioShock. Last year, Hanger 13 who also worked on the other installments confirmed that they were working on a new Mafia game, but said it was “a few years away” from release. Since then, it has been claimed that 2K is preparing for an announcement related to Mafia.

There is also the possibility that the game in question is the next installment in the BioShock franchise. Back in December 2019, 2K announced that development had begun on a new entry in the franchise and that it would be in development “for the next several years”.

In the comment section of the announcement on X, many gamers believe the mystery game is either Mafia 4, BioShock, or Borderlands 4. Most of 2K’s titles are loved by fans which makes it hard to guess what the mystery game may be. Thankfully, the Summer Game Fest is not too far away anymore, meaning fans don’t have to wait for too long to find out.
Other big partners of Summer Game Fest besides 2K
According to Keighley the list of partners for Summer Game Fest revealed on Thursday, May 16, 2024, are only the first batch and others will be revealed at a later date. The lineup includes PlayStation and Xbox as well as leading publishers and developers.
Summer Game Fest 2024 will be held at the YouTube Theater in Hollywood Park on June 7 at 2 pm PT/ 5 pm ET/ 10 pm GMT. However, it will also be streamed across all major platforms. Day of the Devs: SGF Edition will follow immediately after the show.
