Lords of the Fallen developer, CI Games, has reportedly laid off 30 more people after laying off about 10% of the company in January. The latest layoff round is part of the company’s drive to “preserve business strength and stability”.

According to the statement provided to GamesIndustry.biz, the developer said this “final, targeted round of redundancies” will impact its production teams and the aim is to ensure “maximum efficiency in delivering strategic priorities going forward”.

CI Games confirmed that Hexworks, the team behind Lords of the Fallen was unaffected and will continue to work on “Project 3”, the company’s new action RPG. On the other hand, Underdog Studio, CI Games’ second internal developer has been given an extended period to complete Project Survive” before the game enters full production.

“All affected employees have been informed about this proposal today, and will be fully supported throughout the process over the coming weeks,” a spokesperson for CI Games told us.

At the time of writing, GameBaba Universe did not find any post from an impacted employee. The new layoff announcement is coming a month after the company reported record revenues of over $60 million for 2023. The revenue was mostly inspired by the success of Lords of the Fallen.

Earlier this week it was confirmed that CI Games has entered into a partnership with Microsoft to bring Lords of the Fallen and Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 to Xbox Game pass. Although specific dates were not revealed, the timeline of the agreement was 2024.
