The Game Awards will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 (or Friday, December 13 depending on your time zone). While the nominees for the different categories were unveiled last month, the Players’ Voice category was held off for a later date.
The Game Awards finally pulled the curtain off the list of nominees in this category on Monday, December 2, 2024. The Players’ Voice category is the only category at The Game Awards where the winner is decided 100% by community votes.

While players still get a chance to vote in the other categories, the bulk of the decision on who wins falls on the jury whose votes have the biggest weight. The 30 nominees in the Players’ Voice category will go through three rounds of voting.
After the first round of voting which ends on December 4, the list will be trimmed down to 10, and after the second voting round the list will be trimmed down to 5. The winner in the category will be announced on December 12 at The Game Awards.
