The Internet is crawling with rumors and leaks of GTA 6. That is because GTA 6 is arguably one of the most anticipated video games of this decade. Fans of the franchise already have a long list of requests they want Rockstar Games to implement in the upcoming installment.

New GTA 6 Leak Shows Insane Character Feature Found In Spider-Man 2

According to leaked videos and images, GTA will be set in an expanded Vice City. The location of the game brings back a nostalgic feeling of the early days of the franchise. The earnings report of Take-Two Interactive—the parent company of Rockstar Games—earlier this year suggested that GTA 6 may be released sometime in 2024. However, no official words have come from Rockstar to date.

It was the tenth anniversary of GTA 5 this September. While we await an official announcement from Rockstar, we have compiled a list of some of the mechanics that fans of the franchise want to see in GTA 6—including those that have featured in other crime games.

#5. Toll

Tolls featured in GTA IV. Although a minor feature, it brought realism to the game. Players get to stop and pay a token, just like in real life. However, you can also blast through them and attract the heat from the cops. Since it was just a one-star Wanted Level, it was easy to shake off. Considering the insane level of realism we have seen through the leaks, bringing back this feature in GTA 6 will make a lot of sense.

When the idea of the toll was shared by a Redditor, another user with the name @MogosTheFirst said, “Having long lines at the toll, skipping the line when I’m [on] a mission, getting in front of the line, flashing and honking the guy in front of me, and paying the toll really made GTA IV feel a lot more real and convincing for me”.

#4. Calling the police on NPCs

This idea was one of the five ideas shared by a Reddit user with the name @trumoomilkboi. The idea was undoubtedly inspired by a similar mechanic in Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs 2. In the second installment of the two-part action RPG, Marcus could hack into the police database and place a false heat on NPCs.

Since GTA characters are not used to hacking stuff, the poster suggested that Rockstar could make GTA 6 in such a way that Jason or Lucia could make the false anonymous call through a burner phone. This will not be a bad idea as it can help players to create distractions and flee dicey situations or even set off a brawl between the cops and rival gangs.

#3. Unrestricted access to buildings

Viren Mirpuri of Essentially Sports created a long wishlist of mechanics that will be cool for GTA 6. One of the wishes on that list was that Rockstar should make more buildings accessible to players. In other words, Mirpuri wants unrestricted access to all the buildings (or at least most of them) found on the map.

Already, one of the GTA 6 leaked clips we saw claimed that players can enter more buildings compared to any other game. In that particular video, we saw Jason in what seemed like a music shop. He spent some time there before exiting the shop. While everything in the leaked videos can change before the game ships—whenever that may be—we hope that this feature makes it to the final game.

#2. Dual weapon wielding

In the earlier days of the GTA franchise, characters had the ability to wield two weapons at the same time. As the game evolved, that feature gradually vanished. However, there was a Mod for GTA 5 called the Dual Wielding Fun that allowed players to wield two of whatever weapon they were holding simply by pressing “J” on their keyboard.

The problem with that Mod was that it did not work with all the weapons. Some weapons fired when you double wield, others didn’t. The RPG fired in a really bizarre way. It would be nice to bring back this feature in GTA 6 and make it possible for players to double-wield different weapons.

#1. Cross-play option

The last (or technically the first) of the features that fans want to see in GTA 6 is cross-pay. This is one of the wishes listed by Mridul Dutta of Sportskeeda. For those who may be new to the term, cross-play or cross-platform play is a feature usually found in online gaming that allows players using different gaming hardware to play together.

If that happens in GTA 6, it will mean that players on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC—and possibly Nintendo Switch—can play together. This ultimately blurs out the console rivalry and brings back the central soul of why video games were made—for fun! The more the players the more the fun. A couple of games including Apex Legends already support cross-platform play.

If you had the power to force Rockstar Games to include one of the five features we listed in GTA 6, which one would it be? Share your thoughts with us in the comment box below.
