Xbox has concluded its Tokyo Game Show presentation and part of the take-home from the event is that more games from classic Square Enix games will be coming to Xbox. All the classic games will be available on Game Pass starting today.

“We’re excited to announce that nine of our all-time classics are coming to Xbox consoles – in fact, many of them are available today!,” said Duncan Heaney, content communications manager at Square Enix. “What’s more, each one has been refined to provide an even greater experience than their original releases – and they were pretty darn good to start with!”

Although the graphics have been refined—and in some cases new content added—all the Square Enix’s classics coming to Xbox have stuck closely to their original, allowing players to really immerse themselves in old times. Below are all the classics coming to Xbox.

Final Fantasy I – VI Pixel Remaster

9 Square Enix Classic RPGs Are Coming To Xbox And PC As Definitive Editions

It was announced at the Tokyo Game Show that Final Fantasy I – VI Pixel Remaster will come to Xbox. According to Heaney, each of the games in the series represents a milestone in gaming history.

“The Pixel Remaster series takes these classic adventures and remakes them with new pixel art optimized to look incredible on HD displays, and beautiful rearranged soundtracks (seriously – their audible awesomeness cannot be overstated!),” Heaney said.

“Plus, there are plenty of quality-of-life features, including multiple font options, the ability to switch to the old soundtracks if you’re a purist, the ability to boost experience for faster levelling, turn off random enemy encounters, and even auto-battle.”

Trials of Mana

Trials of Mana will be coming to Xbox and PC too. As pointed out by Heaney, all the games in the Mana series are distinctively different standalone adventures. However, they all share elements like nature and the iconic Mana Tree.

Earlier this year, Visions of Mana launched on Xbox Series X|S. In Trials of Mana, players will pick a party of three very different heroes from a roster of six. The gameplay and narrative will be slightly different depending on who you choose.

Legend of Mana

Also coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass today is the Legend of Mana. Instead of a map to explore, players will find an empty map that they’ll have to fill. Also, instead of the conventional narrative, players will have 68 quests to playthrough which all tie into three central arcs with their own story.

The remastered version has been improved in several ways including crisp redrawn backgrounds, a soundtrack by Yoko Shimomura—the composer behind the Kingdom Hearts series, and more.

“The game’s not just about recreating the past – this new remake builds on the classic experience, with entirely new features, including the ability to find friendly monsters and recruit them to battle in arena tournaments for fun and profit!” said Heaney.

In Square Enix’s financial report around the middle of this year, the company expressed disappointment at the performance of its latest Final Fantasy games and said it will bring its titles to more platforms in the future rather than making them exclusive to one platform.
