Astro Bot launched to universal acclaim on September 6 with players and publishers heaping praise on the game. However, Team Asobi is not done with their favorite franchise just yet. The studio director Nicolas Doucet announced today the updates coming to the game tomorrow, October 17, and beyond.

Astro Bot Is Getting New Speedrun Level 5 New Levels And 10 Bots Tomorrow

Doucet acknowledged the positive reactions from Astro Bot players saying, “It warmed the hearts of all the little crew Bots hear at Team Asobi HQ”. The game received an average Metacritic score of 94, from 137 critic reviews. According to Doucet, the new speedrun level was based on player request.

“…if there was one piece of feedback that came through loud and clear, it was that you wanted more,” Doucet said. “So rather than put our little robotic feet up just yet, we have been busily beavering away, and we have some new surprises ready for you.”

“As announced in the recent State of Play trailer, starting on October 17 we will be releasing the first of our brand new speedrun levels, Building Speed. These levels will test your platforming skills and alongside an online leaderboard, will give you the chance to compete against all your PlayStation friends.”

Doucet also revealed that after the first speedrun level (Building Speed) releases tomorrow, Astro Bot will get new speedrun levels each week until November 14. The title and timeline of all the speedrun levels releases are as follows:

  • Oct 17: Building Speed
  • Oct 24: Let it Slide
  • Oct 31: Spring-loaded Run
  • Nov 7: Helium Heights
  • Nov 14: Rising Heat

All the updates will become available every Thursday at 6:00 am PT, 2:00 pm BST, and 10:00 pm JST. Each new speedrun level released will have two new special bots to rescue. That means 10 new special bots to rescue and add to your crew.

In the last State of Play, Eve from Stellar Blade and Helldivers bots were teased. Therefore, 8 new special bots are still a mystery and Doucet said it was up to players to discover them. All the speedrun levels will come to players who already own the base game at no extra costs.
