A lot of players are diving back into Cyberpunk 2077, and it is thanks to the release of Cyberpunk 2.0 and Phantom Liberty DLC expansion. The update 2.0 completely turned around the experience of the open-world RPG to make it the game that fans long anticipated.
You can recall that when Cyberpunk 2077 was first released in December 2020, it was laden with bugs which affected the game’s rating. However, CD Projekt Red, the studio behind the IP gradually worked to fix the bugs to bring the game to an enjoyable playable experience. Update 2.0 finally nailed it—but with its own developing issues too.
The studio announced on Friday, September 29, 2023, that Patch 2.01 was on the way. The upcoming patch will address some of the issues that players have already identified in the game. One of the biggest of them all was the corrupted saves on PlayStation 5.

Although the studio previewed the most important fixes, they promised that when it finally arrives it will squash more bugs than they mentioned. However, no specific date was given for the arrival of Patch 2.01.
In the announcement, the studio only said, “We want to give you a heads-up that Patch 2.01 will be coming soon”. Will it arrive in days or weeks? We can’t tell. The best we can do is to keep our fingers crossed and hope that CD Projekt Red’s “soon” will be days rather than weeks.
What fixes will come to Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.01?
One of the biggest challenges that PS5 players have faced in Cyberpunk 2077 since the launch of the Patch 2.01 was corrupted saves. It really sucks to sweat it out for hours only to discover that you have to start all over again. That’s a bummer for some of the guys at GameBaba Universe.
Some players took to Reddit to share their bitter experiences of corrupted saves in PS5 after they started playing Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. In the comment section of the subreddit started by LNMK36, @hyperakt1v said, “Can’t keep playing until it’s fixed”.
From the comments we read, it was clear that the issue particularly affected those who started playing Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty using their old saves from the first release. The saves were corrupted after the ‘Hole in the Sky’ mission. The only workaround at the moment is for the player to load earlier saves. The good news is that Patch 2.01 will fix the issue.

“Addressed the issue of corrupted saves on PlayStation by increasing the maximum save file size limit”, the studio wrote on their support page.
The bad news is that corrupted files will not be recovered. “This won’t fix the saves corrupted before the update,” the studio revealed. “If you’re experiencing the issue, keep a working save (e.g. resave it as manual save) till 2.01 arrives.”
While this may not be the fix that those who may have lost a significant portion of their saves may be expecting, it sure gives fans of the franchise on PS5 something to look forward to.
List of all the major fixes coming to Patch 2.01
Those that have played Phantom Liberty may have noticed that there is a distorted effect when you select a particular dialogue while talking with Johnny at the end of the mission titled ‘Automatic Love’. CD Projekt Red knows about that glitch and it will no longer persist on the screen when the update arrives. Other major fixes include:

We can’t wait to see all the other fixes promised for Cyberpunk 2077 by CD Projekt Red. Phantom Liberty has had a far better reception compared to the base game. It would be nice to see how far the polishes will make the game better.
