The long-awaited Elden Ring expansion titled Shadow of the Erdtree is exactly a month away from release. To that effect, Bandai Namco has premiered a new story trailer for the expansion which gives potential players a glimpse of the world and the monsters they’ll be fighting in the game.
“Guided by Empyrean Miquella, players are beckoned to the Land of Shadow, a place obscured by the Erdtree where the goddess Marika first set foot,” reads a description on the DLC on Elden Ring’s official website.
“In these strange new lands, players discover the dark secrets of the world as they meet others who follow in Miquella’s footsteps with ulterior motives.”
Billed for release on June 21, 2024, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be released across all platforms including PS4/PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The base game must be installed to play the DLC.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be sold for $39.99 / £34.99 for the basic edition but will also be available in several other editions. Shadow of the Erdtree is believed to be the first and only DLC that Elden Ring will get, according to FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki.
However, in a recent interview, Miyazaki said that the doors would not be shut on Elden Ring and did not rule out the possibility of a sequel. When asked why they decided to opt for one DLC instead of several DLCs, Hideaki said one large DLC was best for the game because it preserved the exploration and sense of adventure of the game.
