So Far, Electronic Arts has drafted Motive, Dice, Criterion, and Ripple Effect into the Battlefield project. The company’s CEO Andrew Wilson said the assembly is the biggest in the history of the Battlefield franchise.
According to the publisher, the team is working on “a Battlefield universe across connected multiplayer experiences and single-player”. During the quarterly earnings call on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, Wilson said he recently got the chance to experience the early outcome of the project.
“This is the largest Battlefield team in franchise history,” the Electronic Arts boss said. “A few weeks ago, I was visiting with the teams, and I couldn’t be more excited about what they showed and what we were able to play. I’ve just spent a whole bunch of time with the collective Battlefield team playing what they’re building and it is going to be another tremendous live service.”
As part of the earnings report, Electronic Arts announced that it would release two unannounced games before the end of the current fiscal year which ends March 31, 2025. The publisher explained that one of the games was being developed by a third-party developer while the other was based on an owned IP.
