The first time we got an extended view of what Death Stranding 2 holds was during the State of Play. Kojima Productions, the studio behind the iconic game has released a new 10-minute pre-order trailer that dived deep into the story alongside spilling details that fans of the franchise have been yearning for.
Death Stranding 2 will see players embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam, now with companions, will journey to save humanity from extinction. Players will traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies and obstacles that question if connecting was the right thing. Here are the details we know so far about the upcoming game.

Release Date
Death Stranding 2 will launch exclusively on PS5 on June 26, 2025. However, players who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will get early access starting June 24.
Multiple Editions
The game will launch in multiple editions including the Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition. Players who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will unlock level 1-3 gold Battle, Boost, and Booka Skeletons and the Machine Gun early in the game. With the collector’s edition players will get the following items:
- 3’ Dollman Figurine
- Collector’s Box
- Letter from Hideo Kojima
- 15’ Magellan Man Statue
- Art Cards
Pre-order Date and Bonus
Although Death Stranding 2 will launch in June, pre-orders will start on March 17, 2025. Players who preorder the game will unlock the Custom Hologram Quokka early in the game and level 1-3 silver Battle, Boost, and Booka Skeleton.

Cost of the different Editions
According to dataminer Billbil-kun, the Standard Edition will cost €79.99 / $69.99 / £ 69.99 while the Collector’s Edition will cost $229.99.

Another detail we saw from the trailer is that some of the cast in the first game will return for the second installment. The leading casts in the upcoming game include:
