Steam Awards has become an end-of-the-year tradition for the platform. Winners are chosen by 100% audience votes, unlike The Game Awards where a team of game journalists make the bulk of the decision. Participants of the 2024 Steam Awards, like every other year, were rewarded with stickers for every category they voted.
Rising from the heartbreaking outing at The Game Awards, Black Myth: Wukong unsurprisingly won Game of the Year at the 2024 Steam Awards. After its launch, Black Myth Wukong soared to new heights on the Steam concurrent player chart to become the most concurrently played single-player game.
Perhaps Astro Bot would have gotten the chance to compete in that category too if Sony had launched the darling family game on Steam. However, since Astro Bot was not on the nominee list, it was an easy win for Black Myth: Wukong.

Black Myth: Wukong won in all the categories it was nominated at the 2024 Steam Awards making it the title with the most wins. In fact, besides Wukong, no other title won in more than one category. Here is the full list of all the award winners in the different categories.

Some believe the winners in some of the categories didn’t deserve it. For example, Grant Taylor-Hill of Insider Gaming thought the Best Soundtrack award handed to Red Dead Redemption was strange when compared to other nominees in that category (Frostpunk 2, Silent Hill 2, Fate Slay Night, and Horizon Forbidden West). However, since Steam Awards is a popularity vote, it is hard to dispute any of the winners.
