The long-awaited Gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live (ONL) is upon us. The show’s host, Geoff Keighley, has promised 2 hours of gameplay reveals, trailers, and surprises. Keighley will be hosting the show alongside Sjokz.
Expected on stage include producers, developers, and guest stars. Gamers are anticipating news from highly anticipated titles like GTA 6 and Death Stranding 2. Already, Keighley has confirmed that there would be announcements about Call of Duty Black Ops 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, Marvel Rivals, Dune Awakening, Civilization VII, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Those who could not make it to be among the 5,000 live audiences at the Koelnmasse, the convention center in Cologne, Germany can follow the show through various digital channels including YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Steam, BiliBili, X, and Facebook.
Besides the official Gamescom streaming channels, streamers are allowed to co-stream the show which means you may see one of your favorite streamers hooking up to the event. GameBaba Universe is unable to co-stream the show at this time but will provide a minute-by-minute update on everything announced. This post will be updated as the announcements roll in.
Gamescom 2024 pre-show announcements
It has become a tradition to host a 30-minute pre-show before the main event. The preshow usually covers announcements from indie titles. Gamescom 2024 was not an exception. Here is everything announced at Gamescom 2024 preshow.
Dave The Driver
A collaboration between Dave the Driver and MXMtoon was announced. The pixelated game will be Baltro. and will be coming in October.

BeGone Beast
BeGone Beast, a to-down horror featuring up to 4 characters–including a bunny showcased some cool weapons in a new trailer.

The mountain climbing game got a new gameplay trailer that showed off what it would feel like to step into the shoes of mountain climbers.

We Harvest Shadows is a game where you are all alone on a farm. It is a first-person farming horror developed by the solo developer David Wehle.
A.I.L.A
This is a first-person psychological horror where dreams and reality are intertwined.
Revenge of the Savage Planet
It will get a full gameplay trailer on August 21
Inzoi: Character Studio
it looks like a Sims game but there is more to do including cooking, getting married and raising a family.

Terry gameplay reveal for Street Fighter 6
If you are a fan of Terry, you would be excited to know that he will be joining the roster of characters soon. More details will be revealed at the Street Fighter show during the Gamescom 2024.
Gamescom Opening Night Live main event
Gamescom Opening Night Live received a new sign language stream. Keighley in his characteristic way thanked the audience and teased the surprises that will be coming at ONL.
Borderlands 4 (2025)
A brand new game from 2K Games and Gearbox Software. It started with planets colliding with each other. followed by a robot picking the signature Borderlands mask.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Set in the early 90s. A new trailer was shown off at Gamescom 2024. It was a mission where the team was supposed to retrieve sensitive information from a senator. It is one of the missions where the player has to play in stealth mode. However, players can choose to go loud.
Players can deploy toy racer cars armed with explosives. This comes in handy when facing heavily armed opponents. Both stealth and guns-blazing playstyles were shown at Gamescom 2024 ONL. Remember, “If you can’t outgun them, you outrun them”.
Goat Simulator Remastered
Goat Simulator Remastered is coming in 2024. The trailer for the upcoming remastered was showcased for the first time at Gamescom 2024 ONL.
Persona 3
A new update was announced for Persona 3.
Dying Light: The Beast
Techland announced the new FPS zombie shooter at Gamescom 2024 ONL. Keighley said the game will have 20 hours of gameplay.
Black Myth: Wukong
The launch trailer for Black Myth: Wukong was showcased at Gamescom 2024 ONL. Black Myth is currently the most-played single-player game on Steam. It is also the most wishlisted game and is out on Steam and PS5. The game was developed by Game Science.
Dragonball Sparking!Zero
A new trailer for Dragonball Sparking!Zero was showcased at ONL.
King of Meat
This game supports up to four players who are thrown into a dungeon and will have to defeat monsters, skeletons, and traps. Keighley featured in the game. Sign up at kingofmeat.com for the new playtest.
Olynked: Banner of the Spark
It can be played alone or with friends. Players team up with good robots to fight evil ones. The top-down game throws players into cool environments. It has rogue-like and building elements which the developers hope players will find exciting. It is scheduled for October release.
Lost Records: Bloom and Rage
Created by the minds behind Life is Strange. The narrative-driven game allows players to make different decisions as they craft their band.
No More Room In Hell 2
This is another zombie horror game where players fight a horde of zombies. The update is an 8-player co-op.
Arc Raiders
This is an action survival shooter set in a desolate city. Not much was showcased–but enough to get players hyped.
Infinity Nikki

War Hammer: Space Marine
It was teased at Gamescom 2024 ONL. Playable in 4 days.
Predecessor
A mobile shooter built by an indie team enters a new development stage.
Path of Exile
A top-down game that challenges you to become a king by doing whatever it takes. It got a November 15, 2024, Early Access release.
Dune Awakening
The first gameplay of Dune Awakening was showcased at Gamescom 2024 ONL. You begin as a nameless prisoner, sculpt your look, and crash into a planet where you are alone. Stick to the shades and meet hundreds of other players in the vast online world. Working with others will increase your chance of staying alive.
Your choice of weapons and abilities will determine your playstyle. Take what you can from the fallen. Mine, harvest, and gather with your group to build more resources. Dune Awakening will be released on PC early 2025.
Reanimal
Tarsier Studios, the creators of Little Nightmares 1&2 showcased a new game titled Reanimal.
Genshin Impact
Developed by Hoyoverse, Genshin Impact revealed what’s next for the game through a cool Gamescom 2024 ONL trailer. The game will be coming to Xbox on November 20.
Monster Hunter: Wilds
A team from Capcom was on stage to present a new gameplay trailer for Monster Hunter: Wilds. The trailer showcased a spider-like monster that spins a red web as well as a first look at what camps would look like in the game.
Naraka & Tomb Raider
Will be available on August 28.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
The fighting game has a 2025 release date.
Mecha Break

Monument Valley
A first look at Monument Valley was revealed at Gamescom 2024 ONL. Monument Valley will be released on December 10, 2024, exclusively on Netflix Games.
Civilization VII
It is the biggest most ambitious game that Firaxis Games has made. The game will get a new narrator. It will be released on February 11, 2024.
Starfield
The Rev-8 free update is coming to Starfield. Shattered Space will be released on September 30, 2024.
Marvel’s Rivals
Two new players are joining Marvel Rivals. The first is Captain America and the second is Winter Soldier. Their gameplay was showcased at Gamescom 2024 ONL. It will launch on December 6, 2024.
Playing for the Planet (Gamescom 2024 Sustainability Award)
It was announced that there are 3.3 billion players on the planet. The initiative is committed to ensuring gamers embrace sustainability. One of the advice they gave was to turn on the power-saving mode. Tencent Games was given the Gamescom 2024 sustainability award.
Secret Level
Secret Level announced a new 15-part series created in collaboration with Amazon and developers that brings cinematics in games to life. The series will launch on Amazon Prime on December 10.
Age of Mythology: Retold
Releases September 4. It will be playable day-1 on Game Pass

Delta Force: Hawk Ops
The FPS got a new gameplay trailer with a release scheduled for Q4 2024.
Kingdom Come Deliverance
The trailer showcased the characters, worlds, and a stint at combat. It is scheduled for February 11, 2025 release.
Zenless Zone Zero
Hoyoverse’ new game received a new trailer at Gamescom 2024 ONL. It looked a lot like Genshin Impact.
Honkai Starrail
Honkai Starrail and Fate Starlight got a new trailer at Gamescom 2024 ONL. Coming in Q3 2025.
Batman: Arkham Shadow
This game is exclusive to Meta Quest. The gameplay trailer was showcased at Gamescom 2023 ONL. It has an October 2024 release window.
Gamescom Asia will return to Asia October 17 to 20.
Little Nightmares 3
A new gameplay trailer for Little Nightmares 3 was premiered. It showed off new puzzles that players will need to solve as a team.
Herdling
It was announced for 2025 release. The game from Okomotive will see players herding cattle and doing the cool stuff.
Masters of Albion
The game was self-funded and included a team of 20 veterans from Fables and Dungeons Keeper. By day your task is building the town and gaining resources while at night the town will come under attack and you will have to defend it. At any time you can possess a character and play in the third-person view.
Squid Game: Unleashed
The game was inspired by the hit show and created by Netflix Games. Players will have to survive different obstacles to become the last player standing.
Unknown9 Awakening
Got a new trailer that showcased more of the combat and the world. The editions of the game were also revealed. The Deluxe edition will include the Aviator Pack, Shadow Pack, and Mercenary Pack. Preorders will start on October 18, 2024.
Arena Breakout: Infinite
Arena Breakout got a new gameplay trailer that focused on showcasing the massive library of arsenal that will be available in the game. The full release is coming at the end of the year. Early Access is available now.
Blizzard Entertainment
Blizzard made their first appearance at Gamescom since 2019. The company showcased what’s coming next for World of Warcraft.
Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred
The mercenary companion for Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred was premiered. Revealed were the characters in that class. The Dark Citadel, a new co-op multiplayer has been added to the game. It will launch on October 8.
The First Berserker: Khazan
It will launch on PC and consoles in early 2025. The Gamescom 2024 trailer showed a different dimension of the game including combat, a bit of the story, and boss fights.
ARA: History Untold
The world-building game got a new got a new gameplay trailer. It will be available day-one on Game Pass.
Dark and Darker Mobile
It got a new gameplay trailer that gave players a glimpse at what is to come.
Floatopia
This is a different type of world-building game where players can control the weather. It has a 2025 release window.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
One of the biggest games that was highly anticipated for Gamescom 2024 was Indiana Jones and the Great Circle played by Troy Baker. It was given a December 9, 2024, release. In Spring 2025 it will be released on PS5.
Mafia: The Old Country
The Mafia franchise is getting a new installment called The Old Country. The developers of the game Hanger13 promise more reveal in the coming months.
