Last weekend, it was rumored that Ghost of Tsushima was coming to PC. That rumor has now been confirmed by PlayStation, Nixxes Software, and Sucker Punch. Beyond just confirming Ghost of Tsushima for PC, the features of the upcoming port were also revealed.
In a new post on the PlayStation blog, Nixxes’ online community specialist Julian Huijbregts said Nixxes was excited to work with Sucker Punch Productions to bring Jin’s story to a new audience and to bring Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut to PC for the first time.

“The PC version of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut includes the full game, the Iki Island expansion, and the cooperative online multiplayer Legends mode,” wrote Huijbregts.
Apparently, the project has been in development for over a year. As Nixxes has always done with PlayStation exclusives, their PC port usually goes beyond graphics updates to making the game utilize all the potentials of PC. In the case of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, it will have unlocked frame rates and “a variety of graphics settings and presets, and customizable mouse and keyboard controls”.
“With ultrawide monitor support, you can take in the expansive terrain and ancient landmarks with a cinematic field of view,” said Huijbregts. “Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC is fully optimized for 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions and even supports 48:9 resolutions for triple monitor setups.

“Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC features the latest performance-enhancing technologies. NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3 are available with both upscaling and frame generation options. Intel XeSS upscaling is also supported and if your hardware has headroom to spare, you can use NVIDIA DLAA or FSR 3 Native AA to further boost image quality.”
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will launch on May 16
Sony’s interim CEO Hiroki Totoki mentioned one of the company’s financial success strategies for its games division in the latest earnings call. He said the company would be bringing more PlayStation exclusives to rival platforms. Therefore, in the coming years, we will likely see more PlayStation exclusives port to PC—and who knows, even Xbox.
In a February Business update, Xbox boss Phil Spencer also revealed that Xbox was sending 4 of their platform exclusives to PC. During the podcast, he also mentioned that in the future platform exclusivity will become rarer.
While making games exclusively for one platform can provide the incentive for gamers to purchase consoles, they also hurt sales numbers for the company. The more platforms that a game is available on, the greater its potential audience pool will be.

On February 8, 2024, Sony’s first-party studio Arrowhead Game Studios released Helldivers 2 on PS5 and PC. It was the first game from Sony’s first-party studio to launch on a platform other than a PlayStation console. It turned out to be a great decision. The game surpassed 450,000 concurrent players on Steam, a number that was higher than the peak concurrent player count of all the other Sony first-party PC releases combined.
When Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut launch on May 16, it will have full DualSense support with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Perks outlined for players who pre-purchase the game include early in-game unlocks of the following:
- New Game+ Horse
- Traveler’s Attire
- Broken Armor dyes from Baku’s shop
“We’re proud to announce that our friends and partners over at Nixxes are bringing Ghost of Tsushima to PC!” said Sucker Punch co-founder Brian Fleming when asked about his thoughts on bringing Ghost of Tsushima to PC.
“This is a first for Sucker Punch – all our previous work is console-exclusive, so we are excited about all this and Nixxes was the right team to do this project. With them on board, we knew the results would be nothing short of amazing! Now excuse me as I go order a Super Ultra-Wide monitor!”
