Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) is arguably one of the most anticipated games since its first announcement on February 4, 2022. Although Rockstar Games revealed that the game was in development, the title has remained a mystery until this point.
Recently, fans spotted what appears to be the working title of GTA 6 on the resume of renowned actor Reggie Talley. The resume showed that the actor was working on a game that was currently in development with the codename Fireball.
Fans immediately tied the codename to GTA 6 considering that it followed Rockstar’s naming scheme. Other GTA titles also had interesting codenames. The codename’s link to GTA 6 remains unconfirmed as of the time of writing this post. According to the resume, the real title was yet “to be determined”.

In 2022, fans noticed multiple actors had a mystery game in their resumes. The only thing in common in all of them was that they mentioned that the game was in development at Rockstar Games. Talley’s resume didn’t reveal anything spectacular too. The actor who has not starred in any game before is set to play a supporting role in the mystery game.
Why do fans think Fireball is GTA 6 codename?
Fans will always do what they know how to do best; speculate. One of the reasons why fans of the game may have linked the codename Fireball to GTA 6 is that Rockstar had paused the work on Red Dead Redemption and GTA 4 remasters—presumably to throw all their resources and focus into GTA 6.
At the moment, there is no known game that Rockstar is working on besides GTA 6. Therefore, the codename may be GTA 6—although no one is yet to present a convincing theory. There is still a huge chance that the codename may be for an entirely different game.
When the codename Fireball first leaked, Rockstar kept mute. We don’t anticipate that they will react to the new leak too. However, if by chance that ever happens, be sure that we will keep you updated.
Developers and studios usually mask new projects with a codename to shield their progress from the public and retain the element of surprise. However, the secrecy surrounding the development of GTA 6 has not saved it from leaks.
A few months ago, one of the biggest GTA 6 leaks revealed a glimpse of gameplay. While it excited some fans, others flinched, saying the game did not live up to the hype. Nevertheless, it is always unfair to judge a game that is still under development because anything can change before the release.
Rockstar Games working on a VR game
Just when most fans thought that Rockstar had paused all other games to focus on GTA 6 development, “Undisclosed Rockstar Game” was spotted on the resume of Michael Ursu under the VR section. The voice actor is also scheduled to play minor roles in upcoming games like Silent Hill: Ascension and an unnamed Borderlands game.
However, that info was quickly deleted by the voice actor. Besides L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, Rockstar has not explored VR which suggests that the game under development may be a huge one. A few game analysts tried to link it to GTA 6 VR support—but it was a hard sale.

Back in 2021, TheGamer reported the announcement of a VR port for 2004’s GTA: San Andreas. Since that announcement, everything has gone quiet. Fans will fancy another game from Rockstar while they wait endlessly for a possible 2024/2025 release date for GTA 6. The game is expected to be released exclusively on next-gen consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S).
