Earnings reports always come with interesting details, often hidden behind boring numbers and graphs. Take-Two Interactive’s latest earnings report packs a punch. From GTA VI release window to Grand Theft Auto 5 sales record, and other games in development, there was so much to glean from the document.

The first GTA VI trailer released last December has now surpassed 190 million views. It became the most viewed video game trailer in just 48 hours after release. The trailer confirmed some of the previous rumors of the upcoming game including the first female protagonist called Lucia and being partly set in Vice City—Rockstar’s version of Miami.
GTA 5 continues to record strong sales
Another interesting detail that was revealed at Take-Two’s earnings call on Thursday was that Grand Theft Auto 5 has now sold over 200 million copies. This accounts for nearly half of the total sales recorded by the franchise.
Originally released in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Grand Theft Auto 5 later got a PC port and was released on PS4 and Xbox One. It was later enhanced for the current-gen consoles. As of March 2023, the game had shipped 180 million units. According to the latest earnings report, the game has added another 20 million units to that number.
