“Helldivers! The Exo-45 Patriot Exosuits are in full production in the factories of Tien Kwan. Ready for deployment on the battlefield soon!” the studio announced today on X.

According to reports, the Exosuits have been in the works even before the release of the game. It was claimed that the plan was to have Exosuits as part of the game’s launch day feature. However, for some reason, the devs at Arrowhead couldn’t make it happen.

The Exo-45 Patriot Exosuits will feature a minigun on one arm and rocket launchers on the other. Players will be able to freely jump in and out of the Exosuits in their quest to “spread democracy”. Arrowhead is yet to announce a specific date when the mechs will be deployed and available to Helldivers 2 players.

What is not clear yet is where players will get the Exosuits and how easy it will be to get them. However, from some of the leaked videos, we could see that the Exosuits could be called as easily as calling airstrikes, but could also be destroyed by friendly fire. However, that may change when it is finally deployed in the game.

In the comment section of the Exosuit confirmation tweet, many fans of the game wanted Arrowhead to say exactly how soon was “soon”. Our best guess is that the giant machines will be coming to the game sometime this month—probably in their next major update.

While the coming of mechs to Helldivers 2 was a matter of time, vehicular combat was previously not mentioned by Arrowhead. However new Helldivers 2 leaks posted by GameOverDeo on YouTube showcased vehicular combat in action.

Fans of the franchise have compared the vehicular mechanic in the Helldivers 2 leak to Warthog from Halo. It would require one player to be in the driver’s seat while another would be at the back operating the mounted machine gun.

The combat vehicle can run over smaller aliens and easily climb hills. Arrowhead is yet to make an official statement on the possibility of vehicular combat in the game. However, it is one of the features that can also speed up navigation in the game and hasten the completion of missions.

Other speculated weapons on the Helldivers 2 leak video suggested some weapons from the first game may be added to the sequel. However, like every rumor, we advise you to take this one with a grain of salt. See the Helldivers 2 leaked video below and make your judgment.

Helldivers 2 has been a breakout hit for PlayStation

Helldivers 2 is the first game from Sony’s first-party studio to come to another platform that was not PlayStation on launch day. It usually takes at least 2 years for Sony to bring their first-party games to another platform (mostly PC).

However, it turned out to be a great decision. Helldivers 2 hit 458,709 concurrent players according to SteamDB on the second weekend after launch. It is believed that the numbers would have been higher if not for the server issues that plagued the game after launch.

A few days ago, Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt shared on X that the server limit for the game has been raised to 700,000. Also, the studio rolled out a new patch that kicked idle players back to the title screen so that they didn’t hug the servers. So far, it appears the efforts are paying off with players rarely complaining about server issues anymore.
