One success inspires another. The surprise success of Helldivers 2 has inspired Steamforged Games to pursue a Helldivers 2 board game. Steamforged is famous for transforming successful franchises into board games. Previous projects they have handled include Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and Sea of Thieves board games.
“MAJOR ORDER: Alien threats are increasing across Super Earth, and YOUR help is required in the fight for freedom!” read the project announcement on X.

“HELLDIVERS 2: The Board Game has been approved by the Ministry of Defense to prepare you for active service to stamp out the enemies of democracy. Your objective? Assemble your squad, and snuff out the threat with the power of liberty, loyalty, and a LOT of explosives.”
Helldivers 2 was launched on February 8, 2024, by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by PlayStation Publishing LLC. After a troubled launch week and severe disruptions caused by the number of players exceeding what the developer planned for, the game eventually peaked at 458,709 concurrent players on Steam.
Helldivers 2 was the first game published by Sony that launched on another platform that was not a PlayStation console. Steamforged has confirmed that Helldivers 2: The Board Game will launch on April 8, 2025.
The confirmation was made on Gamefound, a crowdfunding platform similar to Kickstarter but dedicated to video game projects. Steamforged described the upcoming project as having 1-4 player tactical action that captures different aspects of the game, including, “heroic last stands, spectacular mishaps… and cinematic action.”
While the price of the board game has not been confirmed, interested fans are speculating it would cost upward of $200 for the base board game and additional shipping fees.
Arrowhead recently pulled the veil off Helldivers 2 stats, and it was quite impressive. According to the developer’s report, players accumulated 280 billion total kills, dropped 1.5B bombs, deployed 3.7B Eagles, and suffered 38M friendly fire deaths.
