One official Helldivers 2 trailer hinted that a controllable mech was coming to the game. However, fans of the game saw the mechs in action for the first time through one of the Helldivers 2 leaks that surfaced on Reddit.

In the video, the player was hoping in and out of the mech and doing serious damage with high-caliber weapons mounted on the mech. It is still not clear when the update will be coming to the game. However, it is one of the features that has been confirmed for the game.

When it eventually becomes available, it is believed that it will help reduce downtime because getting from one point to another will be faster—as well as completing missions. When asked on Discord, one of the staff of Arrowhead Game Studios said, “Mechs have been good to go for a while. There’s still some additional polishing being done by people who can’t assist with server issues”.

Mechs were a prominent feature in the first Helldivers game. Although the plan has been to have them in Helldivers 2 on launch day, they have taken longer than anticipated. Players who were curious about how the mechs would look in the sequel which took a third-person view as opposed to the top-down view of the first game can now have a glimpse of it in action below.

The latest Helldivers 2 leak hints at vehicular combat

While the coming of mechs to Helldivers 2 was a matter of time, vehicular combat was previously not mentioned by Arrowhead. However new Helldivers 2 leaks posted by GameOverDeo on YouTube showcased vehicular combat in action—and it was cool.

Fans of the franchise have compared the vehicular mechanic in the Helldivers 2 leak to Warthog from Halo. It would require one player to be in the driver’s seat while another would be at the back operating the mounted machine gun.

The combat vehicle can run over smaller aliens and easily climb hills. Arrowhead is yet to make an official statement on the possibility of vehicular combat in the game. However, it is one of the features that can also speed up navigation in the game and hasten the completion of missions.

Other speculated weapons on the Helldivers 2 leak video suggested some weapons from the first game may be added to the sequel. However, like every rumor, we advise you to take this one with a grain of salt. See the Helldivers 2 leaked video below and make your judgment.

Scammers tried to cash in on Helldivers 2’s success

On Friday, March 1, 2024, fans of Helldivers 2 noticed two other versions of the game on Steam with a 50% ($19.99) and 75% ($12.49) discount each. It turned out some indie game devs had renamed their games and changed the description and images on their pages in a way that cloned Helldivers 2, in an attempt to fool unsuspecting buyers.

However, through SteamDB it was easy to see that the game that was renamed was Figurality which was previously described as “a game with a choice of actions, by controlling the mouse cursor you must guide it to the correct figure before you hit the wall, the further you progress the more difficult the figures become”. The game was developed and published by Bside Studio. The second game that was falsified was Do Not Smile by Whitehole Games.
