“I have so many video game consoles,” Al-Nasser said. “After a while, I noticed that I had a big stock of gaming consoles that I couldn’t play. The TV ports are limited and if I want to play, either I unplug the existing consoles or I’ll keep everything and add more switchers and of course more converters as well.”

Al-Nasser connected a total of 444 different consoles to one television which earned him the Guinness World Records for “The most consoles connected to a single TV”. He was handed the award on March 30, 2024, according to the Guinness World Records website.

“By adding more switchers, the idea came to my mind. I will connect all the gaming consoles I have to the TV, then I’ll contact Guinness World Records as this project looks unique.”

Al-Nasser’s collection includes plug-and-play, video game consoles, computers, android games, and HDMI game sticks. He owns the Magnavox Odyssey, the first gaming console released in 1972, down to the latest console on the market, the PS5 Slim released on April 4, 2023.

The collector has a spreadsheet where he notes which game is connected to a specific HDMI switcher. According to him, each of the video game consoles required a special setup and a cable management system which was challenging to pull off.

Al-Nasser makes use of HDMI switchers 16 in 1 and RCA switchers to link all the different consoles to a single TV. In some cases (like the Nintendo 64), he had a converter installed to link them to the TV. Al-Nasser named Sega Genesis as the best gaming console of all time saying, it is “Number One”, “Always”, “Forever”.

“If you notice here, the cable’s almost hidden,” Al-Nasser said. “I used all the tools available in the market, everything available in order to organize the cables. Also, to have a setup [that’s] not only to play. It’s like a museum. That’s why this setup and this record took too much time.”
