A new story and gameplay trailer of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was one of the talking points of the Xbox Games Showcase which was held earlier this week. In a recent Xbox Podcast, the game director Jerk Gustafsson and production director John Jennings from MachineGames sat down to take a deep dive at the upcoming game.
Hosted by Malik Prince, the past few Xbox podcasts have focused on a deep dive into some of the games revealed at the showcase earlier this week. They talked about everything from how it felt like to work with Lucasfilm to the antagonists in the game.
During the interview, Prince mentioned that globetrotting has always been a huge part of Indiana Jones movies. Consequently, he asked his guests if they could talk about the locations players would visit in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
“As you said, it really is a globetrotting adventure for Indy,” Jennings responded. “It’s an important part. All movies have that, right? They’re not set in one location.”
“So, as you saw in the trailer, we do spend some time in the Himalayas. We’ll get to see some familiar locations for Indy, as you’d have seen in some of the earlier trailers, and also a little bit in this one.
“We get to walk around the corridors of Marshall College, which is like a dream come true for Indy fans. We spend time in the Vatican, which is a cool new location that hasn’t really come across in the Indy lore before. We spent time over in Egypt and the pyramids, which is a must-have for an Indiana Jones game, right?
“We also get down into the jungles in Thailand, particularly Sukhothai, and there’s a couple of other locations as well. You’ll have to play the game to find out.”
MachineGames is confident in delivering Indiana Jones and the Great Circle this year
Prince asked when fans could get their hands on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Without mincing words, Gustafsson mentioned that fans of the franchise will get a chance to play the game later this year.
