Insomniac Games normally don’t sell suits in Spider-Man. Instead, players get cosmetics by completing a series of tasks and gathering enough resources to unlock them. However, for the first time, two new suits coming to the franchise will be sold for $5. So, why are they doing this?
Insomniac Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Marvel Games are partnering with Gameheads for the creation of the new suits. In a new video announcing the collaboration, Ted Price, President and founder of Insomniac Games thanked the millions of fans that have played the game.

“For us at Insomniac Games, we have been humbled by the overwhelmingly positive response to the game,” Price said, “and we have loved hearing about players’ experiences as they’ve explored the city playing as Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and some other characters I won’t mention because of spoilers”.
Gameheads is a nonprofit organization that supports underrepresented students in technology. The two new suits will come with the Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack. Players who purchase the pack will get;
- Fly Suit for Peter
- Fresh Suit for Miles
- 10 photo mode stickers
- 2 photo mode frames
“Launching on March 7, 2024, purchases of the Fly N’ Fresh suit pack will support Gameheads,” wrote Marvel Entertainment in a video description announcing the collaboration. “PlayStation will donate $4.99 (100% of the purchase price) of each purchase of a Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack in the United States to Gameheads, through April 5, 2024.”

At the end of the collaboration, the suits will be available for free at no additional cost. Price said, “Our goal is to provide representation through a diverse, believable cast of characters who collaborate to overcome monumental odds”. No doubt, the collaboration with Gameheads is a furtherance of that goal.

Price said that to present the different characters in Spider-Man 2 “in an authentic fashion”, it was important “to have a development team that’s representative, one that ultimately reflects the diversity of our audience”. Price opined that the video game industry was still a long shot from achieving diversity. However, he also acknowledged that progress has been made.
“One of the ways we can help increase diversity in our industry is by partnering with organizations who help underrepresented and low-income youth with an on-ramp to video game development. Therefore, we and Sony Interactive Entertainment with support from Marvel and Disney have partnered with Gameheads, a nonprofit organization based in Oakland, California.”

Gameheads trains underrepresented and low-income youths in different careers in the tech and video game industry. Their students learn everything from coding, animation, design, project management, and how to work effectively in teams.
Gameheads equips the students with skills that will open doors of opportunities for them, doors that without these skills will remain closed to them.
“Now, how have we partnered?” Price asked. “Well, on behalf of Insomniac and Sony Interactive Entertainment, I am excited to announce a suit pack with two new Spider-Man suits for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The two suits in the pack have been designed by Gameheads artists and the pack will be available for purchase for $4.99.”

Insomniac Games promises to donate up to $1 million in proceeds from the sale of the pack in the United States to Gameheads so that they can continue their mission. Price urges fans of the franchise to consider purchasing the suit knowing that the proceeds will go towards a good cause.
