InZOI is dubbed as The Sims killer and it was launched in Early Access on Friday. However, the launch was quickly followed by the dark discovery that players could run over children. This punched a hole in the near-perfect depiction of most parts of day-to-day life by the game.

InZOI is one of the most hyped games of 2025. At some point, it overtook Hollow Knight Silksong as the most-wishlisted game on Steam. However, all that hype is now mixed with the supposed too much freedom the game gives to players.

The post showing the unfortunate addition appeared on the InZOI subreddit on March 27. The post was accompanied by a description saying, “You can drive into the elementary school and…the children”. The accompanying video was just as the user described.

The discovery sent a shockwave among most gamers because of the sensitivity. In the comment, many believed that the incident may cost the developer his job. In a message sent to Insider Gaming, Krafton addressed the issue saying it was an “unintended bug”.

“This issue was caused by an unintended bug that has been resolved in the latest patch,” said the company representative in the message sent to Insider Gaming.

“These depictions are highly inappropriate and do not reflect the intent and values of InZOI. We understand the seriousness of this matter and age-appropriate content and we are strengthening our internal review processes to prevent similar incidents in the future.”

While bugs do happen in video games, something as serious as this should have been caught by testers and fixed before the game was released. Sadly, most studios have laid off in-house game testers or effectively shuttered the department and rather rely on Early Access players to detect and fix bugs—which often leads to embarrassing situations like this one.
