WWE Superstar John Cena recently sparked rumors about his likely involvement in GTA 6 after he posted the cover art of the upcoming game on Instagram. The superstar who has over 20 million followers clearly said “images will be posted without explanation for your interpretation”.
In less than 24 hours, the post has already garnered over 376k likes and more than 7k comments making it one his most engaged posts in recent weeks. While some have interpreted the post to mean that the WWE star would feature in GTA 6, it is highly unlikely.

John Cena recently surprised fans of WWE when he turned against Cody Rhodes at the Elimination Chamber PPV. This is coming on the heels of his retirement tour. Although many predicted it, watching it play out was still surprising.
The GTA 6 cover art came after Cena’s win at the Elimination Chamber. Like all of his other posts, there was no caption which left fans speculating. There is still no explanation as to why he would post the GTA 6 cover. However, scrolling through his post history it is easy to see that he has made other random posts of movie posters that he played no role in including Minions and Superman.
While celebrity appearance in the Grand Theft Auto franchise is not strange, Cena would have been likely bound by an NDA that he would not be able to talk about the game if he played any role in it because that would be considered a huge spoiler.
However, Cena appeared in PGA Tour 2K23 and Take-Two was a long-time publisher of WWE games which means Cena would likely have a relationship with the company that would make such collaboration easy. We have to keep our fingers crossed on this one.
