On February 28, 2025, fans of Monster Hunter Wilds will finally get their hands on the game. At the State of Play, Capcom revealed the game’s first free update, which happens to be Mizutzune, a dragon-like creature.

“I’m here to announce that we’re adding Mizutsune as an additional monster for the first free update!” said Ryozo Tsujimoto, producer of Monster Hunter Wilds.

The books are already open for pre-orders and come with meaty bonuses including layered armor, the Guild Knight Set, and Hope Charm talisman. Also coming with the pre-orders is a mini art book.
The Monster Hunter Wilds digital mini art book has concept art of different characters and enemies. However, this software is different from the main game. The offer is only valid for the digital version pre-orders from the PlayStation Store until February 27, 2025. Alternatively, you can get the complete Steelbook which has much more.
“Of course, there’s even more additional content to come in this first update,” Tsujimoto said. “Please be on the lookout for more information soon.”
In the summer, Monster Hunter Wilds would get additional monsters in the second free title update as well as more event quests. “We also plan on continuing regular updates to the game after its launch,” Tsujimoto added. Just before you ask how long into the future Capcom hopes to continue supporting the game with updates, Tsujimoto added,
“We’ll share our plans for the title update roadmap in the future so please look forward to it.”
