We are days away from the official launch of Mortal Kombat 1 and NetherRealm Studios has released the game’s official launch trailer. What fans of the franchise will find interesting is that the launch trailer showcased Reiko and Shang Tsung’s gameplay. Both will be Kombatants or playable characters in the upcoming game.

Shang Tsung will come as a perk to those who purchased the Premium or Kollector Edition of the game. Tsung will retain his shapeshifting ability in Mortal Kombat 1. This magic ability allows him to change into any character including his opponent and copy their moves.

One of the reveals of the Mortal Kombat 1 launch trailer that got fans excited was Tsung’s so-called ‘Alien Fatality’. In the fatality, the evil sorcerer pins the defeated opponent on the slaughter table, dissects them vertically, and pours a green gooey into the gaping scar.

Tsung then stands back and watches a serpent-like creature emerge from the scar and devour the opponent. Reiko’s fatality is no less horrific. The second-in-command to Tsung will drive a spear into the chest of the opponent, break it into two, and knock down the opponent with the broken half in his hand before driving it into the back of their skull.

Fans that purchased the Premium or Kollectors Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 will have early access to the game from September 14. The rest will have to wait until September 19. With the release of the Mortal Kombat 1 launch trailer, it is safe to say that the gameplay of all the characters in the upcoming game has now been showcased.

Another interesting detail we learned about the upcoming game is that it will feature accessibility options. The main aim of accessibility is to make the game playable by gamers with one physical disability or the other.

The accessibility settings will have special features for gamers with visual, auditory, and motor challenges. Visual settings will include a Colorblind Mode with a plethora of color presets for those with different kinds of color blindness. However, the intensity of the colorblind mode can be adjusted.

Players can also lower the heads-up display location of the Health Bars. When descriptive audio is activated, there will be an audio narration of the events happening on the screen. Players will auditory issues can enable subtitles that support all key dialogue in story mode.

NetherRealm has also made it possible for players to remap different button inputs. This will come in handy for players with motor problems. According to a user on the X platform, the game’s size on PS5 would be 114.4 GB. It is important to mention that the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store don’t include the size of games in their listing description. Therefore, it is hard to verify the source of the claim.
