If you enjoyed the most expensive Netflix animated series Arcane, there is more to come. Riot has announced that 2XKO, a 2V2 fighting game based on Arcane champions, will hold its next playtest in Spring 2025. The free-2-play fighting game is expected to launch on consoles and PCs.
The company recently published a Jinx gameplay sneak peek showcasing how vicious she can be on the battlefield. Playtest for the character is ongoing and you can register to playtest her here.

So far, the characters confirmed to be on the 2XKO roster include Ahri, Braum, Arius, Ekko, Illaoi, Jinx, and Yasuo. Back in August, the studio conducted its first at-home playtest, Alpha Lab.
The game’s director Shaun “Unconkable” Rivera said, “We were so stoked to see all the excitement around features like duo play, spectating, and leaderboards,” noting they still have more to add.
“Alpha Lab was our first chance to see what players like and dislike about the game while we’re still locking down core gameplay. So your participation was not only awesome to see, but really valuable in terms of helping us refine 2X even further. It taught us a lot about which features feel really good, and which ones need more work. We’re excited to use what we learned from all of you to amp up what feels best about playing the game while continuing to knock down some of the barriers preventing folks from having fun.”
At the moment, Riot is working on fixing three key issues with 2XKO including creating more opportunities for team play, decreasing downtime during combos, and improving controls.

“That said, we’re also committed to preserving and amplifying the things that you all said felt really good about the game—stuff like big teamwork moments that give the game its Special Sauce™. Those are the things that make up our core vision, and we’re doubling down on them in order to bring that vision to life.”
Riot anticipates that the next 2XKO playtest will be in Spring 2025 and would be available to more regions. Will you join the next 2XKO playtest come spring 2025? Share your thoughts in the comment box below.
