After committing the heinous crime against his family, Prosper posted a video where he spoke to the camera saying, “I am the chosen one; chosen by Clementine. I am guided as Christians are guided by Jesus Christ.”
Nicholas Prosper appeared in Luton Crown Court for sentencing on March 18 and the process will continue today, March 19. According to the timeline of the event, as reported by BBC, Prosper started planning the crime in August 2023 and actively researched St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, a school he had attended.
He first tried to purchase a gun in August 2024 but failed. However, by the 30th of the same month, he contacted another dealer and offered £600 for a gun and cartridges. He met with the dealer at Leabank on September 12 and purchased the weapon for £650 using a forged certificate. The meeting was captured by CCTV.
“When I heard the horrific news on that day, part of my soul died too,” said the suspect’s father, Raymond Prosper, in a victim impact statement. “This is a lose-lose situation for us all and we have lost four family members.”
Sentencing will resume today as judge Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb will begin handing down sentence on the 19-year-old defendant.
