Pocketpair is still struggling to contain the activities of cheaters in Palworld. The company announced on Friday, February 16, that they are aware that some players are unable to connect to the official servers and blamed it on the activities of cheaters.

“Currently, some users are unable to connect to official servers due to cheating and the influence of fraudulent activities,” the company tweeted through the game’s official X handle. “We have confirmed that some players are unable to play the game properly. As a company, we do not tolerate any fraudulent activity or cheating, and we are working on measures to deal with it strictly and as a priority.”

By the end of February, Pocketpair plans to make public “a player list function for servers” through an update. The company believes this will “strengthen the identification of players who engage in cheating”. Consequently, such players will be suspended from using the servers by Pocketpair’s management team.

“Following this, we plan to introduce an external anti-cheat solution to take measures against particularly frequent fraudulent activities and cheating. *Please note: In the case of community servers, single player, and co-op, the use of this function is optional.”

Pocketpair also has plans for tougher actions against “cheating and fraudulent activities” in Palworld. The developer said that they deal with several issues of cheating daily, and it is becoming harder for them to keep up. Nevertheless, they apologized for their inadequacies.

The company concluded its announcement by saying, “Our entire team is working hard to get everyone back to a state where they can enjoy the game comfortably and with peace of mind as soon as possible”.

Since the release of Palworld, Pocketpair has continued to work hard to fix the issues that players have encountered in the game. The latest patch for the game was released on Steam while the Xbox patch would be released as soon as it is ready. Arguably one of the most annoying was the game crashing after the total number of Pals captured by the guild reached around 7,000.

Also, the previous patch released by Pocketpair caused saved data in the server to remain broken and unable to load. The new patch has now resolved the issue and all saves will load correctly, according to the developer. Another issue that was fixed is where certain equipped weapons suddenly disappear when a player makes use of a grenade in multiplayer.

The last major problem that was fixed in the latest update is an issue where, although the displayed captured probability increased when the capture power was strengthened with Lifmunk Effigies, the capture probability did not increase at all due to an internal processing bug. Other known issues that have now been fixed include:

  • Fixed an issue where if a Pal that was manually assigned to a breeding farm went to sleep, it would not wake up forever
  • Fixed an issue where no wood would drop when Pal at the base felled a tree

Pocketpair emphasizes that it would continue Palworld development while prioritizing fixing major problems and issues. Players can enjoy Palworld solo or online with up to 32 players on a server.

After its launch on January 19, 2024, Palworld quickly rose to fame, attracting millions of players within a week. It also rose to become the second most concurrently played game on Steam with over 2.1 million players. However, the game’s image was smeared with controversy due to the close resemblance of its Pals to Nintendo’s Pokémon monsters.
