Grinding Gear Games has announced sweeping changes that will come to Path of Exile 2 which launched into Early Access last weekend. The developer has already deployed changes it felt needed to be addressed urgently, while others will be deployed in upcoming patches.

Path Of Exile 2 Developers Announce Sweeping Urgent Changes To The Game

The changes made to the game cut across gameplay, checkpoints, items, currency, and maps. In an earlier post on X, the developer said some of the skills in Path of Exile 2 had “unacceptable balance” and delivered far too much damage than intended. One of the skills identified to have this effect was Supercharged Slam.

“Supercharged Slam is unfortunately dealing far too much damage than was intended given the short channel window required to hit maximum stages,” the developer wrote on X.

“We are imminently going to be reducing its damage. As much as we are trying to avoid nerfing skills and builds, it is better to do this early before it feels obligatory to use the skill. It is important that a wide variety of skills feel viable and fun to play and it simply diminishes all other abilities when one is clearly outshining the others like this.”

Another skill that was identified to have an unacceptable balance was Magnetic Salvo. The developer said they are playing Path of Exile 2 along with gamers and gathering players’ feedback that they’ll be addressing this week and before the holiday.

The developer has now published a broader detail of all the issues they have fixed as well as identified issues on their radar. You can view the full patch notes here to see all the changes that have been made to the game so far—as well as those planned for a later date.
