NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games have released a trailer for Peacemaker, the next guest character that will be added to the Kombat Pack DLC. What’s more interesting is that the Peacemaker coming to MK1 will also retain the likeness and voice of John Cena, the ex-WWE Superstar who is behind the original character.
“Peacemaker is ready to challenge Liu Kang’s New Era of peace and is equipped with a formidable move-set incorporating the character’s expert gunslinging skills, signature helmet abilities, and loyal bald eagle sidekick, Eagly, all complemented by his legendary dance moves and brash humor,” said Warner Bros. Game.

Peacemaker will come to MK1 as a playable character. Early Access players can start using Peacemaker from February 28. However, full release will be on March 6. The Kombat Pack comes with the Premium Edition of the game.
However, players who purchased the Standard Edition can separately purchase the Kombat Pack to have access to all the DLC characters who are mostly figures from popular TV series including Omni-Man from Invincible and Homelander from The Boys.
Just like in the TV series, Peacemaker’s helmet and sniper are important parts of the gameplay. Although in the TV series, all his helmets have different abilities, In MK 1, he can activate different abilities using the same helmet by saying different activation codes.
Peacemaker also brings his sarcasm to MK1
If you have seen the Peacemaker TV series, the one thing you have to deal with is his sarcasm—even in the face of danger. For example, during the duel screen with Lui Kang, he was smiling and Kang said, “This is no time to smile”.

In response, he said, “Hell yeah, it is! Fight a Fire God is coming off my bucket list”.
In a similar duel screen with Mileena, he said, “You’re the first bangable monster chick I’ve met”. Mileena responded with “You think me a monster?”
In a duel with Quan-Chi, he said, “I’ve had shits take more effort than beating you will”. In response, Quan-Chi said, “I will so enjoy killing you”.
Talking about activating different abilities with the same helmet, players will hear Peacemaker say different activation codes like;
- “Forcefield” to activate a shield around him that deflects all projectiles back to the person that sent it
- “Sonic Boom!” will shoot a powerful force beam that chip off the opponent’s health
- “Torpedo” will send Peacemaker flying towards the opponent like a human torpedo
- “Anti-Gravity” will allow Peacemaker to fly out of the screen and re-emerge behind the enemy to deliver a surprise hit

The trailer also showcased Peacemaker’s fatality. He picked up a jetpack and fixed it on his back then jets towards Quan-Chi and knocks off his leg in the process. Upon landing, he activates Sonic Boom and disintegrates the remaining part of his body into bones. Eagly, Peacemaker’s friendly Eagle will also play an important role in combat and fatalities. He would likely get a second fatality later.
Janet Cage will also make a Kameo appearance
Fighting alongside Peacemaker in the reveal trailer was Janet Cage. For those who may not be familiar with the character, Janet Cage is the female version of Johnny Cage and she comes from an alternate timeline.
Janet made a brief appearance at the end of MK1’s story mode as an alternate-dimension fighter. She will be added to the MK1 fighting roster later in March as a Kameo. In the trailer, she pulls off a finisher where she stabs the opponent in the eye, piercing the skull.

She also has a finisher where she delivered a deadly uppercut that takes off Mileena’s head. Once she becomes victorious, she strikes the characteristic Cage pose with arms folded under her breasts. We have embedded the trailer below for your viewing pleasure.
