It is just about 48 hours to Summer Game Fest and the excitement has been growing for some—but not so much for others. On June 2, Geoff Keighley released a video trailer for Summer Game Fest 2024 which he edited and many could not help but notice that it was dominated by games that have already been revealed.
Over the years, Summer Game Fest has maintained the reputation of being the place where exclusives are revealed. While we do expect an exclusive world premiere, there will likely be more announcements relating to DLCs and gameplay of already-revealed games.

As hours wind down, we are getting clues to some of the games that will likely get an announcement at this year’s Summer Game Fest. Here are two confirmed announcements for the Friday, June 7 show.
Remedy likely to reveal Alan Wake 2’s Night Springs DLC at Summer Game Fest
A new message posted on X through Alan Wake’s official account strongly suggests that Remedy Entertainment is warming up to reveal Alan Wake 2’s first DLC expansion at Summer Game Fest.
“Dark Triangle Coffee,” the message began. “Just coffee, nothing else. Have a sip at Night Springs’ One and Only Coffee World. Join the percolation on June 7th… in Night Springs.”
Last year, Remedy confirmed that Night Springs will be the name of the first Alan Wake 2 expansion. Night Springs is a fictional TV show that features in the Alan Wake universe. According to a previous announcement by Remedy, the expansion appears to take place in the show or would be centered around it.

“Visions and dreams,” read the description last year. “Fiction is written and coming true. Fiction collapses and remains just words on a page. These are those stories… in Night Springs.”
“Play as several familiar characters from the world of Alan Wake and experience the unexplainable in multiple self-contained episodes of Night Springs, a fictional TV -show set in the world of Alan Wake.”
Alan Wake 2’s Night Springs DLC was previously given a late spring release window. However, it is unclear whether it will stick to that schedule or be delayed. Either way, the Summer Game Fest announcement will likely come with a definite release date.
Night Springs is the first of two paid expansions that Alan Wake 2 will get. The second will be The Lakehouse which doesn’t have a release window yet.
Blumhouse will announce its horror game roadmap
In February last year, Blumhouse announced that it had created a video game division. Unlike Remedy Entertainment, Blumhouse Games explicitly mentioned that they have something to share at the Summer Game Fest.
“Tune in to #SummerGameFest this Friday to find out what’s to come from the new home of horror games,” read the post from the company’s official X account.

Blumhouse is the production company behind some of the scariest horror movie titles like M3GAN, Halloween, US, and Paranormal Activity. The new division will work with indie game developers and target projects with a budget under $10 million.
The company wants to bring to the video game industry a similar strategy that has worked for them over the years. They are known for turning small-budget productions into a monster Box Office hit.
