Björn Pankratz and Jennifer Pankratz left Piranha Bytes under questionable circumstances to form Pithead Studio. After weeks of teasing, the couple has revealed their debut game, a 3D dungeon crawler called Cralon.
“Cralon is an authentic 3D dungeon crawler with RPG and adventure elements, inspired by the ultimate dungeon classics,” read the official game blurb on Steam. “Hunting a demon, you fell into the abyss of an old mine. Equip yourself, fight creatures, solve quests, uncover secrets and find a way out.”

The announcement on X came with a-minute-and-half long trailer that allowed fans to have a glimpse of what the game would look like. At the time of writing, the video was not added to the game’s Steam product page. There is no official release date yet for the game.

In this game, players will step into the shoes of “Cralon the Brave” and hunt a demon that is stealing the inhabitants and resources of a nearby village. During one of the pursuit, the creature pulls up a surprise and you fall into the shaft of an old mine, trapped in the darkness.
“A maze of corridors and secrets lay ahead and you must find a way out to avert the threatening doom. But the further you venture into the underworld, the clearer the feeling becomes that something is wrong. With the help of the creatures of the shaft, you face your fears and uncover the secret of the mine.”
If you love the D&D genre, Cralon is one game that you should tag on your radar. It will feature fully-voiced dialogues, crafting recipes, creepy elements and scary situations, hidden puzzles and traps, melee and ranged combat, bizarre creatures that are sometimes friendly, a deep main story and side quests and twists and so much more.
