The PlayStation State of Play is trending, and the reason is that one of the co-hosts of the XboxEra Podcast, King Gronk Nick, posted a cryptic message on Sunday, January 28, 2024, suggesting that the next State of Play could be coming this week. In addition to that, the message also contained the list of titles that will likely be announced/showcased.

The Next PlayStation State Of Play Rumored To Hold On January 31

“On the 31st (roughly), Ronins will Rise, we’ll die stranded, have a rebirth and Kojima will fulfill his dream,” Nick wrote on X. “Sonic will live in the shadow of his generation while the hills will remain silent until the dawn when you’ll need to catch the metro. Just don’t be a Judas about it.”

When asked why Stellar Blade was not on the rumored games that would feature in the State of Play, Nick said that there is a chance that the list he put out “isn’t 100% complete”. However, he said, “it wasn’t part of what I received”.

Stellar Blade was earlier scheduled for a 2023 release. However, towards the end of the year, the game was delayed until 2024. No specific date has been given. Several industry insiders, game commentators, and enthusiasts jumped into the comment section of Nick’s post to decrypt the games he codded into his tweet.

Rand al Thor 19, a YouTube content creator and host of the Xbox Two Podcast did the most perfect job in decrypting Nick’s post. His comment contained a list of all the games as follows:

  • Rise of the Ronin
  • Death Stranding 2
  • Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
  • Sonic Generations Remaster
  • Silent Hill 2
  • New Metro game
  • Judas

If there is any reason to take the State of Play rumor seriously, it is because PlayStation and Xbox are usually neck-and-neck in competition. After Xbox Developer Direct on January 18, 2024, PlayStations’ response would most likely be looming around the corner.

A comment we found rather interesting came from an X user with the handle @ThiccTeh who claimed Nick stole the list from Nate The Hate. “This isn’t your leak; you stole it from Nate The Hate or someone else in the Discord and trying to claim it as your own,” wrote @ThiccTeh. “Disgustingly low, even for you.”
