Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket aka Pokémon TCG Pocket recently launched a new holiday reward with ‘Mythical Island’ packs. However, some players were disappointed to learn that their gift doesn’t count towards Pack Points.
Pokémon TCG Pocket is a monster success in the mobile trading card game genre. It debuted with the ‘Genetic Apex’ pack and received its first major expansion of the game’s card pool this December, the ‘Mythical Island’ which launched on December 17.

The new update leans heavily toward Mythical Pokémon like Marshadow, Mew, and Celebi. The update also comes with new Trainer cards based on iconic characters from the early days of Pokémon including Leaf and Blue.
One fan of Pokémon TCG Pocket, jayvenomva, attracted huge engagement on Reddit with the topic, “You don’t earn pack points from the Holiday log in Boosters and they don’t count towards the 60 packs themed mission or dailys”.
Themed collection missions have also specified that fans will use pack stamina to open packs during the missions. While some players found it disappointing, others were already anticipating it.
“Yep! Personally I noticed the working change and knew we’d be getting free packs at some point,” commented u/SpyX370. “Didn’t think it’d be so soon, but free stuff is free stuff lol.”
“Yeah I noticed this today and while I can’t complain about free stuff this does come across as stingy,” read another comment by u/Death-by-Fugu.
The two comments represent the two different sides of most fans of Pokémon TCG Pocket after noticing the caveat with the Holiday rewards. Nevertheless, there appears to be a lot on the horizon for the game.

The recently launched ‘Mass Outbreak’ event gave players the opportunity to garner exclusive cards of famous Electric-type Pokemon including Electabuzz, Raichu, and Zapdos.
