3 Potential Problems Fans Missed In Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora Trailer

Avatar frontiers of Pandora

It is well over a month since Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora game overview trailer was released. Riding in the euphoria of the enchanting open world, fine details that may potentially be a problem skipped my consciousness. Seeing the trailer again one month later, I can’t help but ask, “How did I miss this?”

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first-person, action-adventure game set in the open world of the Western Frontier of Pandora. According to the story narration, fans of the game will play as a young Na’vi abducted and trained by the RDA, a human militaristic corporation. The intention was to build you into their war machine.

However, the RDA came under attack (apparently from Jake Sully) and was forced to leave. Before leaving, an order was given to eliminate all the abducted Na’vi children—which includes you. However, before the soldier could execute the order, your teacher—also an Avatar—neutralized the soldier and puts all the children to cryo-sleep.

Fifteen years later, you awaken to a world where you are a stranger to the humans and the Na’vis. Part of the story will be about reconnecting with your lost heritage while the other part will be about defending your home when the RDA returns.

At least, that was all that most fans got from the trailer. However, taking a closer look, I have spotted features of the upcoming game that may pose serious issues to some gamers.

3 potential problems of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, hidden in plain sight

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora promises to bring a unique experience to gamers. Players will explore a never-before-seen continent of Pandora. Scenes from the game trailer are captivating and should excite any art or nature lover and evoke a feeling of wonder.

Players will journey through unpredictable alien regions while staying alert to the lurking danger. When the RDA returns, it will be up to you to decide whether you want to face them in melee combat, use your ranged weapons, or take the fight to them in the skies.

While the world of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is pleasing to the eyes, it adds to the problems that fans of the game should watch out for. Below are the features of the upcoming game that may pose a serious challenge to some gamers.

#1. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first-person, action-adventure

Most people that watched the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora trailer probably didn’t give a thought to the fact that the upcoming game will be a first-person view. Perhaps, the impact failed to sink because the cinematic feature showed the full characters.

As a first-person game, players of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will only see the hands—and sometimes—the feet of their character. The protagonist will only come into full view when the player is riding a horse or an Ikran. This is a clear deviation from the last Avatar game which was a third-person, action-adventure.

“I’m disappointed to discover that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is effectively a first-person shooter at heart,” wrote Josh West of Gamesradar+.

Perhaps, there are plans to make a VR mode version of the game which necessitated making the game from a first-person view. Players that enjoyed the first game may struggle to bond with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The feeling will be worse for those that are not fans of first-person views but love Avatar games and movies.

#2. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will likely require more CPU power

From the reveal and game overview trailer, it is easy to see that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be vastly about exploration either on the ground or in the air on the back of an Ikran. The larger the game world, the more resources developers would need to fill up the world.

Eventually, all those resources will lead to a bloated game file size. Depending on the number of animations that will be happening simultaneously in the environment, PC gamers may need a PC with larger memory and a more powerful graphics card to seamlessly play the game.

In simple terms, PC gamers may be forced to purchase a new PC altogether. So, before jumping to preorder Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, make sure you look at the minimum system requirement to make sure it can play on your current PC. It would be heartbreaking to end up with a game you cannot play.

#3. Players may get lost and frustrated—just like in a real-life jungle

Although open-world games are fun, getting lost can be a serious issue, especially in first-person, open-world games. Players of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora may get lost and frustrated unless the game provides navigation guides that will be positioned on the screen. However, that was not evident in the game overview trailer.

The colorful nature of the worlds may feel identical in some places, particularly when players are moving on the ground. Well, players can always mount their Ikran and take it to the air for easier navigation. Nevertheless, the possibility of getting lost is something that players should keep in mind and prepare for.

This may be a good time to see the first Avatar movie again

Since Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a sort of expansion of the first Avatar movie, this may be a good time to see the movie again to better understand the game’s story—although not mandatory.

I also heard that the Ikran will be highly customizable, from naming to tweaking its appearance. However, the level of allowed customization was not revealed. December is not so far away anymore and we have to wait to find out.
