Rocksteady held a closed alpha test for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League back in November last year. Players who participated in that closed alpha test had to sign a non-disclosure agreement which restricted them from sharing content from the game. That did not stop someone from leaking over thirty minutes of footage of the upcoming game.
Well, for those who obeyed the NDA and kept their lips sealed, Rocksteady now has some good news that will partially unseal your lips. The studio announced on Thursday, January 11 that they have lifted part of the NDA which should allow participants of the closed alpha test to openly discuss more about the game.

“Now that there is more news out on the game and players are asking, we’re no longer enforcing a portion of the NDA and we’re allowing players to talk about their experience from the Closed Alpha Test,” Rocksteady wrote in a statement shared through Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League official X handle.
“We’ve heard the community requests and want to give players an opportunity to discuss what it’s like to explore Metropolis as Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark. To the amazing players who tested the game, please feel free to talk and write about your gameplay experience.”
While this may seem like an open invitation from Rocksteady for players to create some hype around Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as the launch date draws near, there is a caveat. While players can share their experiences, they are still not allowed to “post imagery or video from the Closed Alpha Test”.
Interestingly, many believe Rocksteady just activated damage control with the partial lifting of the NDA, considering the poor reviews that Kill the Justice League has already received, especially from IGN. The thought is that if more people say good things about the game, the bad reviews will be drowned.
Review of Rocksteady’s Kill the Justice League has been mixed
Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has a January 30 release date—which is around three weeks from now. Even before Rocksteady officially announced that it had partially lifted the gagging NDA, a lot of people have been talking about the game—and it has been a flurry of divergent thoughts. While some gamers have praised the upcoming release, others prefer not to be so excited.
“Game is very good, combat is fast and aggressive, all characters have a unique play style that is addicting and you will find yourself switching between all of them, graphics are beautiful, large city, upgrades, and cosmetics are really good,” wrote @MrSRTTT.
Twitch streamer @MrSoldierman_ loved Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for the same reason that some—including IGN review—complained about. “The best part of the Closed Alpha was the dialogue between characters. It’s very humorous and entertaining. It felt like I was watching a movie half the time! Can’t wait to play the full release January 30th.”

Those on the other side of the divide have had quite a handful of reasons to spite Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League—although I must confess some of the reasons are laughable. For @MrSRTTT, the only hitch was melee, “it’s still really good it’s just not fast like Batman games and the weapons make up for it,” the user wrote.
One of the laughable reasons why some people are hating on Kill the Justice League is that they can’t stand their favorite superheroes being slaughtered by the supervillains—forgetting Suicide Squad is a dark-themed comic.
“You had the DC characters being killed by Suicide Squad upsetting a lot of ppl, even though the Suicide Squad movies are all dark-themed and they kill other DC characters, and then you had the ppl who wanted a Batman-style game and this is much different,” explained @MRSRTTT.

According to an IGN review, “You are surrounded by teammates that won’t shut up with their quips which quickly becomes annoying”. IGN also complained that sometimes two to three lines of dialogue overlap and at other times you will be stuck for minutes waiting for your crew at a checkpoint.
