This morning, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced changes to its leadership that will see Hideaki Nishino ascend to the role of corporate President and CEO starting from April 1, 2025. The change is expected to “maximize synergies across SIE”.
Herman Hulst will continue to serve as the CEO of the Studio Business Group and will now report to Nishino. Effective April 1, Hiroki Totoki who is the current President, COO, and CFO of Sony Group Corporation will step down from the SIE Chairman position to become President and CEO of Sony Group Corporation.

The new CFO of Sony Group Corporation will be Lin Tao who is currently serving as SVP, Finance, Corporate Strategy and Development for SIE. She will vacate the position to take up her new role. Sony will announce her replacement later.

Nishino joined Sony in 2000 and rose through the ranks to become SVP, Platform Experience Group. In May last year, he was appointed CEO of Platform Business Group, SIE. While holding this position, he oversaw developer and third-party publisher relations.

Hulst will continue to lead the development, publishing, and business operations of SIE’s first party-content. Part of his job description includes game development across PlayStation consoles and PCs, as well as bringing PlayStation IPs to new mediums, including live-action adaptions.
