In preparation for the launch of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League on February 2, 2024, Rocksteady Studios launched the “Suicide Squad Insider” series to give fans of the upcoming franchise a glimpse of the experience. The studio published episode 2 of the series on December 20, 2023, and fans of Metropolis have been buzzing about the story spoiler that came with it.

Although the Justice League has long kept Metropolis safe from criminals and supervillains, they have now been taken over by Brainiac. Consequently, Amanda Waller, the director of A.R.G.U.S (a division of homeland security) was forced to assemble a team of supervillains to try and do the impossible; Kill the Justice League—which appears to be the only way to set them free from Brainiac’s control.
However, to achieve that almost impossible feat, the members of the suicide squad will need some support. The Suicide Squad Insider Episode 2 focused majorly on the characters that will be recruited to support the members of the Suicide Squad (Deadshot, King Shark, Harley Quinn, and Captain Boomerang) to achieve the near-impossible feat.
Keeping in line with the story of showing the useful side of popular supervillains, the “Support Squad” also includes notorious criminals and popular supervillains. The members of the support squad include Penguin, Gizmo, Toyman, Hack, and Poison Ivy.

Each member of the support squad will bring new weapon customization to the members of the Suicide Squad. For example, Penguin is an arms dealer that knows how to get all the cool weapons and part upgrades. Penguin will help you get weapons from different manufacturers including STAR Labs, Amertek, LexCorp, and GCPD. Each weapon is unique to the manufacturer.
Gizmo is a scientist that can create airdropped vehicles that players will find instrumental in combats. The mayhem that can be unleashed with these turret and rocket-mounted vehicles is insane.

Toyman, on the other hand, is a geeky lad who is obsessed with making stuff. The character will try to help members of the Suicide Squad to figure out ways of defeating the corrupted members of the Justice League.
“He’s a tech boy genius who wants nothing more than help save Metropolis,” said Kate Watson, advanced scriptwriter. “He can’t quite come to terms with the fact that his heroes are now the villains.”
Working with Toyman, you will unlock several ways of enhancing your gears to stand a chance against the Justice League. From extra shield harvest to bonus critical damage on Deadshot’s sniper rifle, Toyman is an invaluable member of the support squad.
Hack, on the other hand, is an electronic astral projection that can manifest through anything that has electricity. Working with Hack will help you to increase your talent points as you progress through the game. By accruing more points, you will be able to unlock more abilities sooner than later.

“Hack also uses her abilities to literally hack Brainiac’s comms, so you get to listen in on what the Justice League is talking about and you also get to hear their sort of corrupted personalities and how different they are from the heroes you once knew,” explained Axel Rydby, game director at Rocksteady Studios.
Poison Ivy story spoiler has got many fans talking
The most surprising reveal of Meet the Support Squad was Poison Ivy. The character was a surprise addition to Kill the Justice League because virtually everyone thought she was killed in Arkham Knight. However, Jack Hackett, production manager at Rocksteady, explained how Poison Ivy survived in Arkham Knight.
“For fans who paid close attention in Arkham Knight, they will remember that when Poison Ivy died, she left behind a little sprout,” explained Hackett. “In this game, you discover that that sproutling has been cared for by some people who may have had their own motivations for doing so, but in the chaos of Metropolis, she’s escaped.”

Rocksteady went ahead to chip in an over 2-minute cinematic showcasing the first encounter that the Suicide Squad had with Poison Ivy in the game. The first thing that you will notice is that Poison Ivy has changed. She was younger and seemingly didn’t remember anything from her past life. Also, it turned out the person that cared for the sproutling was Lex Luthor. See the full episode below.
One cool feature of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is that it can be enjoyed solo or in co-op mode. In solo mode, players can switch between the different characters and enjoy the different playstyles. In the next episode, Rocksteady will talk about what fans should expect post-launch.
