Super Mario RPG was one of the games showcased at the Nintendo Direct on June 21, 2023. At the end of the reveal, we learned that Super Mario RPG will launch on November 17, 2023. Nevertheless, preorder was also announced to commence immediately on the Nintendo eShop. Now, fans can also pre-order on Amazon.
Although Super Mario RPG is scheduled for release on November 17, it has already hit #7 on Amazon Best Sellers in Video Games in the United States.
The only game ahead of it was The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom which sits at #4. Technically, Super Mario RPG is the second-best-selling game because most of the items ahead of it are Digital Gift Cards for different online stores.
This makes it the most anticipated Mario game, ahead of Super Mario Wonder, which was supposed to be the star of the Nintendo Direct June showcase.
The upcoming Super Mario RPG is a remake of the 1996 Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars which launched on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) for Japan and the United States.

The game was not accessible to players from Australia and Europe until 2008 when it was added to the Wii’s Virtual Console and later in 2015 it became more accessible with its addition to the Wii U.
However, with the Wii and Wii U’s online stores closed, Super Mario RPG remake which will be coming to Nintendo Switch will be the only way to experience the game.
Super Mario RPG is a collaboration between Square Enix (formerly Square) and Nintendo. It is not clear how much Square Enix is involved in the remake. However, Yoko Shimomura, the game’s original composer will be in charge of the remake’s soundtrack.
Where to preorder Super Mario RPG
At the time of writing, there are no preorder bonuses for Super Mario RPG. However, it is possible that things could change as we get closer to the November 17 launch date. Some retailers often offer bonuses for Switch exclusives. Therefore, if there is no bonus now from your preferred retailer, make sure you check back again at a later date.
Unlike what has become a norm in recent years, there is no deluxe edition or collector’s edition for Super Mario RPG—except we get a late surprise from Nintendo. Therefore, players have to stick with the standard edition of the game which has just the game and nothing more.
Like every other  Mario game, the Super Mario RPG is likely going to be a hit. Those that wish to preorder the game will immediately notice that there is a plethora of stores—apart from the Nintendo eShop—at their disposal, regardless of their country of residence. So, it will ultimately boil down to your preferred shopping destination.
Those in the United States and Canada can make their preorders from Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, VGP.ca, and Play Asia.

In the UK, fans of the upcoming game can make their preorders from ShopTo, Amazon, My Nintendo Store (UK), and GAME. All these options are for those that want to own a physical copy of the game.
There are so many reasons why some fans may pass up the physical copy in favor of a digital copy. If you have bought physical copies for a decade, there is a huge chance that you will be struggling with space. Therefore, those that prefer the digital version of the game can do so through the Nintendo Switch eShop.
