Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown was announced in 2020 as the third in the series and was initially due for release in September 2022. However, that didn’t happen as the release date was snoozed several times. However, the wait is finally over.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Gets September 12 Release Date After Several Delay

“Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is a lifestyle and social experience that redefines the standards of open-world racing games,” read the description that came with the trailer.

“Alone or with friends, explore the island of Hong Kong, accurately reproduced at 1:1 scale. Collect exceptional cars from dealerships, customize them in workshops, and showcase your style to reach the elite of the competition.”

The publisher has also opened the books for pre-order. The publisher previously planned to release the game on the previous-gen consoles but later announced that it had scrapped the idea. The fate of the game coming to Nintendo Switch is also in doubt.

The publisher brags that Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown includes over 100 licensed prestige car brands which is far more than you can see in most racing sims. In terms of story, players will explore the streets of Hong Kong Island in search of fortune, reputation, and prestige, or wealth, fame, and style.

Nacon promotes the game as being much more than racing, “It’s a lifestyle”. According to the release date trailer, it is a competition where regret cannot be seen as a failure. Ultimately, players will be required to write their own stories. See the release date trailer below.
