The long-awaited nominee list for The Game Awards 2023 will be unveiled on Monday, November 13, 2023. The news was shared by the organizers through the event’s official X handle yesterday. In addition to the date, the time of the event was also communicated as 9 a.m. PT/ Noon ET / 5 p.m. GMT.
The unveiling of the nominee list will happen through a global livestream that will be anchored by Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards. There will be nominees in over 30 categories. The Game Awards is considered the Oscars of video games, and the categories are keenly contested. However, the biggest award is usually the Game of the Year.
Last year, Elden Ring developed by Fromsoftware and published by Bandai Namco beat five other games—A Plague Tale: Requiem, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3—to win the Game of the Year.
The Game of the Year is not only the biggest category in the entire award ceremony but also the only category that gets 6 nominees. The other categories usually get 5. Therefore, it is not surprising that the majority of people who tune into the event are always eager to see which game wins the category—and upcoming game premieres of course.
