The hype for The Game Awards 2024 has been insane—just as every other year. Speaking on Kinda Funny Games Daily, Bloomberg Reporter Jason Schreier claimed that at least two announcements at The Game Awards 2024 would make fans say “holy sh*t”. He also claimed that he expects to see trailers for games that are still years from launch.
“There is a good chance you’ll see one or two teaser trailers for games that won’t be out for 2026 or later,” he said. When pressed about big announcements, Schreier said, “There are at least two things that will make you guys reacting say ‘holy sh*t, I can’t believe it’s here”.
The Game Awards 2024 has a long roster of performers including Snoop Dogg expected to thrill fans. Hideo Kojima was also announced as a presenter for the show. Sony Interactive Entertainment is this year’s most nominated publisher with 16 nominations, followed by Square Enix and Xbox with 12 nominations each while Sega bagged 11 nominations.
As with every other year, organizers say viewers should expect “awards, world premiere, new game announcements, and musical performances by The Game Awards Orchestra, conducted by Lorne Balfe”.
The Game Awards 2024 Pre-Show announcements
The Game Awards was delayed for 3o minutes, a situation that left many apprehensive. However, once the show kicked off, it was worth the wait (depending on who you ask though).
Ninja Gaiden
The pre-show started with Ninja Gaiden from Dotemu. The 2D ninja platformer is a fast-paced action game that will surely blow your mind if you enjoy 2D games
One Move Away
This is a first-person game that will see you pack your car and travel through seasons. It is scheduled for release in 2025.
This is Slay the Spire 2
A card, turn-based action game will challenge players to collect cards and defeat monsters.
Dave the Driver – In The Jungle
A new DLC for Dave the Driver will be coming in late 2025. A teaser trailer for the game was showcased at The Game Awards 2024 preshow.
Thick as Thieves
This game was advertised as an immersive multiplayer. The first-person action game features several characters including a stealth mode.

The teaser trailer of Solasta 2 was showcased at The Game Awards 2024 pre-show. It will launch in Early Access 2025. It is developed by Tactical Adventure.
Everything announced at The Game Awards 2024
Geoff Kheiley highlighted how this year’s show is a very important milestone as the show marked its 10-year anniversary. He started by introducing some of the guests and dignitaries in the audience. There was a surprise appearance by Harrison Ford, who was greeted with a standing ovation. He, in the company of Troy Baker and Todd Howard, announced the best performance.
The Witcher IV
The cinematic trailer of The Witcher IV was showcased at The Game Awards 2024. It showcased an immersive world and true-to-life characters. The game from CD Projekt Red is going to have a female protagonist.
Eldent Ring Nghtreign
The next game from legendary developer FromSoftware was announced at The Game Awards 2024. The game is coming in 2025 and is a surprise entry from the developer who said Elden Ring will not get another DLC.
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming to PC on January 23, 2025.
Catly
As the name suggests, this is a cat-themed game.

The Outer Worlds 2
It will feature more action, more weapons, and more graphics. It will be two times bigger than the first game. It is scheduled for release in 2025.
Split Fiction
Josef Fares, the creative director of Hazelight Studios appeared on stage to talk about the studio’s next project titled Split Fiction. It borrows from their previous game It Takes Two and features both sci-fi and adventure worlds. Each of the worlds has its own mechanics and unique playstyles. Once you buy one copy of the game, you can play it with your friend online, and there are no microtransactions. It is coming in 2025.
Killing Floor 3
This is a first-person shooter that features a horde of aliens and a large catalog of arsenal.

Developed by Wargaming, this is an immersive mecha fighting game that features different mechanic characters. Playtesting will start on December 12 and run till December 22.
