Ubisoft Stock Hit 10-Year Low, But Was It Really Due To Star Wars Outlaws Mixed Reception 😒?

I have learned the hard way never to jump to hasty conclusions or just run with headlines. It is a lesson I have to learn over and over again. Alas, when I checked the stock market using Google Finance, I discovered that it was not an isolated case.

The stock market is highly volatile and candles can move in any direction at any time—sometimes triggered by negative news, company announcements, or profit-taking. The report would have made sense if Ubisoft’s negative trade was an isolated incident.

For example, when the majority of the market is in the green zone and a big company’s stock suddenly hits the red zone, then it is easier to look around and peg the shift to any significant change or announcement that happened in the company.

On the other hand, picking out Star Wars Outlaws’ mixed reception as the reason for Ubisoft’s tanking stock price—when the plurality of the market is in red—is hogwash. It simply means the person has not fully understood how the stock market works, or simply trying to twist the news to gain views, likes, and shares. But you have to step back and ask, at what costs?

I get it, some gamers dislike Ubisoft and everything that comes from them. However, I think Star Wars Outlaws is a decent game that needs not tied to any propaganda—that ends up ruining the experience for Star Wars fans. It has its downs, definitely, but which game is perfect?
