#2. Still Wakes the Deep (Released June 18, 2024)
Still Wakes the Deep is one of the surprise entries in the psychological horror genre. It was developed by The Chinese Room and published by Secret Mode. In the game, Cameron “Caz” McLeary gets a job as an electrician in the oil industry while trying to run away from the law.

When an accident leads to damage to the oil drilling platform he was working on, he is trapped with no way to escape. He also has to deal with a mysterious monster that is out for his life and harsh weather conditions. It is played from a first-person perspective and bagged an average Metacritic score of 83 on Xbox, 77 on PC, and 74 on PS5.
#3. Until Dawn (Released October 4, 2024)
The first Until Dawn game was released in 2015 and was developed by Supermassive Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The remake received several graphical upgrades on PC including Ray-tracing support, unlocked frame rates, and upscaling with NVIDIA DLSS 3 & AMD FSR 3.
The entire game was rebuilt using the Unreal Engine 5. It was developed by UK-based Ballistic Moon. In addition to the improved visuals, it also featured new animations and better environmental details. Improvements were made to the story, camera, and controls too. The game received an average Metacritic score of 71 on PS5.
#4. Reveil (March 6, 2024)
Reveil is a narrative-driven first-person psycho-thriller. It leans heavily towards exploration and puzzles. You play as Walter Thompson and try to resolve the mystery trailing him from his dark past at the Nelson Bros Circus. The puzzles—with mostly obscure clues—will challenge your mental power.

#5. Alone in the Dark (Released March 20, 2024)
Alone in the Dark is another blast from the past. It is a remake of a 1992 game of the same name. While the original game was developed and published by Atari, the 2024 reimagination was developed by Pieces Interactive and Published by THQ Nordic. It is the seventh installment in the series.
This single-player third-person narrative is set in the 1930s and features two protagonists, Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood. The jump scares and spooky creatures make it a must-have on a Halloween games list. To get the full story, you need to play as both characters. It bagged an average Metacritic score of 67 on PC, 66 on Xbox Series X, and 63 on PS5.
