Microsoft has revealed new games for its Free Play Days promotion, and the list included some of the biggest releases this year. Free Play Days is a timed promotion that gives Game Pass subscribers access to full versions of selected games at no extra cost.
Also, games included in Free Play Days, are usually discounted, which provides players the opportunity to scoop up their favorite title for keeps. This weekend’s Free Play Days will run from October 19 at 12:01 a.m. PDT to October 22 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. The promotion is only for Xbox Game Pass Core and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members.
The three games that will be available to members for free this weekend include NBA 2k24, Lawn Mowing Simulator, and Hokko Life. Also, Diablo IV is free for all Xbox members regardless of whether they are Game Pass subscribers or not—but there is a catch.

Players can only enjoy 10 hours of gameplay trial for Diablo IV. That feels a lot generous compared to the one to three-hour free trial that some games usually offer—and considering that the campaign is just over 25 hours long.
On October 17, Diablo 4 Season 2 titled Season of Blood was launched. The new season comes with a new questline where players recruit a vampire hunter voiced by actress Gemma Chan. Since its release in June, Diablo IV has become Activision Blizzard’s fastest-selling title to date, according to the publisher.
Blizzard which was recently acquired by Microsoft claims that more than 10 million players experienced the game in its launch month. While you can rush through and complete the other games offered for this weekend Free Play Days, you must purchase Diablo IV if you want to enjoy the full game.
How to start paying for available games on Free Play Days
If any of the games that are available for Free Play Days catches your interest, the first step to enjoying them would be to visit Xbox.com and navigate to each of the game’s product page. Once you click on the game, you will be redirected to the Microsoft Store.
At the Microsoft Store, you will need to sign in to see the option for installing the game with Xbox Game Pass Core or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. If you are using a console (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S), click the Subscription tab in the Xbox Store and scroll down to the Free Play Days collection.

NBA 2K24
NBA 2K24 is the latest installment in the basketball simulation game. It was developed by 2K Games and released on September 8, 2023. It includes loads of personalization and modes that allow you to build a formidable team. Cross-platform play is allowed, meaning you can challenge other players who are enjoying the game on PC and PlayStation.
Lawn Mowing Simulator
The game was first published in 2021 by Curve Games. Developed by Skyhook Games, Lawn Mowing Simulator gives players the opportunity to mow the Great British countryside in different modes—while making sure you don’t run out of money. The game includes a large roster of real-world licensed lawnmowers from renowned manufacturers. It’s a game you want to leverage Free Play Days to check out if you are a fan of simulation.

Hokko Life
Apart from Diablo IV, all the games offered in this weekend’s Free Play Days are simulators. In Hokko Life, you will step off the train and into the cozy and creative town of Hokko. Your goal is to turn the village into a charming urban town. Just don’t forget to step back and relax and warm yourself to the townsfolk. The September 2022 release was developed by Wonderscope and published by Team17.
